THE EASY WAY?

Contacts can be found on the bottom page, and sharing is encouraged.

All good is hard. All evil is easy. Dying, losing, cheating, and mediocrity is easy. Stay away from easy.

It’s not hard to make things easy, all we have to do is follow a few rules. If it is not yours, do not take it. If it isn’t right, don’t do it. If that’s not true, don’t say it. If you don’t know, shut up.

The first paragraph is an example of some easy ways to live, but there are easy ways to die. Puff a cigarette daily and you will die 10 years early. Drink alcohol daily and you will die 30 years early. Love someone who doesn’t love you back and you will die daily.

Those things are your personal demons among others, but they should be afraid of you. It’s simple, you are their home, their food, and as you heal, their executioner. That should be easy to understand.

“Ideals are easy. Ideas are common. Everybody has ideas. But, ideas are also highly overvalued.”

What separates the pro from the amateur isn’t money, success or talent. It’s the mindset. The execution of ideas is all that matters, and that’s not easy. Just like everybody has a story to tell. All you have to do is write it. But, that’s not easy either.

It’s easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging those responsibilities, like it’s easy to make promises, the thing is its hard to keep them. It’s easy to hate, but difficult to love. In other words, all good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get.

For some reason it’s always easy to blame others, but our successes or failures fall on no one but us. It’s our responsibility; this alone is not easy. Just like anyone can become angry. The thing is to be angry with the right person at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way. This is not within everyone’s power, so that makes it harder than ever.

Most of us think it is easy to be safe, especially when we are at home, but think of it this way. A ship is always safe on shore, but that is not what it was built for.

It’s easy to think just when we think we have found our way in life, it changes, but there is always room for improvement, and that’s within your own self. Just remember, the man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty, has wasted thirty years of his life. That is not easy to know, in fact it is very sad and a great waste of time.

In life, the hard way is to learn or discover something through personal experience, especially that which is difficult, painful, or unpleasant.

The easy way is to extricate yourself from a difficult situation is by choosing a course of action, offering the least effort, worry, or inconvenience, even though a more honorable alternative may exist.

DETERMINATION WILL GET YOU THERE?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

It’s no secret life is full of challenges wrapped in unimaginable struggles, the very reason we cannot allow setbacks and obstacles to be the reason we give up. The most effective weapon on and off the battlefield of life is determination; the ability to keep trying and to keep moving no matter what.

It’s true, our successes or failures depend on how much determination, we put into whatever is necessary. We can start by deciding to choose hope. Hope is the most practical starting point because this is where the real possibilities begin.

Life is hard for most of us, but the truth is we only get one shot at it.

Life doesn’t give us too many do overs, so we had better be determined to make what we have as resourceful as possible. With that being said the next step is to seek for goals. If you don’t have them, you can’t push yourself; it’s simple, you’ll have nowhere to go, except into some state of limbo, or in the grasp of someone that will dictate them to you.

We all have those unfortunate times when there are more bad days than good ones; you know, those messy life events that overwhelm the good ones, like unexpected tragedies. I don’t know about you, but those are the days when we should be even more determined to get through what’s necessary to minimize damage.

When we allow our fear of failure to control us, and we use excuses instead of determination to conquer all, we risk the possibility of becoming complacent and mean spirited. These actions only lead to bad decisions, often causing us to make senseless moves that actively resist success due to stubbornness.

None of those traits will help your quest; they are meant to cripple.

I can tell you this, I would rather fight the fight than wish away my days waiting for better ones that may not come, like some folks I know. And I know one of the greatest mistakes we can make in life is to continually fear we may make one. We all make mistakes, that’s how we learn, and it’s a part of living.

In other words, if you don’t try, you can’t secede.

Speaking for myself, I don’t have the time to waste time on things that have no value, especially if it’s the kind that make you want to stop living. I suggest you deal with what’s in front of you right now; that’s the way the present has to be dealt with, because in a second, the now can become a missed opportunity that might have been your future.

One of our jobs is to motivate ourselves, often through sheer determination. I can’t say it enough about that because it is absolutely necessary put into play whatever has to be done in order to make ourselves who we want to be. Waiting on others will not change our situation, it’s totally up to us. Then again, some of us are determined to not take any risk for fear it will be in vain. That’s too bad.

The thing is, we have a choice, we either do or don’t. Just keep in mind that the only way life won’t happen is if you are dead, so you had better be determined to make it as fruitful as possible. As for me, I choose to live, embracing all of its ups and downs with a good deal of anticipation to get as much out of it as I can.

Did you know there are few things in this world that are more powerful than persistence? It’s that determination to get things done that win the day.

It’s something to think about.

THE WAY I SEE IT.

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

How people see us can sometimes come down to a single kernel of corn.

Back in the day, I use to visit a friend that seemly lived most of her life spooning out the bottom of cans until they were nearly clean, coupled with shaking bottles for every drop of liquid to fall. I watched her for about 5 years, and I can still see her in my minds eye guiding every morsel of food into the corner of a pot, a pan, a can, etc., until she had extracted every eatable parcel of food from it.

I saw this as a waste of time and petty, but as the years passed and I had to fend for myself, things changed. It was not until I left my parents home did I fully understand why she had to have every grain.

That move into adulthood was not what I was expecting. Now that I had to make and manage my own money concerning an array of bills previously taken for granted, especially the food. My friend’s frugal practices all of a sudden made sense.

It wasn’t long before I started to realize how wasteful I had been, and most of that waste was out of pure laziness that ended up costing me a pretty penny. As petty, or cheap, for lack of a better word I thought she was, I now know how valuable every morsel is, especially when you or others are hungry.

The moral of this story is, it just goes to show sometimes you can’t see your way clearly until it affects you personally. What I originally thought to be a waste of time was a learning point. I learned the importance of making every dollar count, how to minimize waste, and save more efficiently.

Years ago, my father invented a game that the family still enjoys today, the things is, now it is selling all over the World because someone else patent it. Until this happened, I had tried several times to have the game patented myself, but the times, knowledge and resources eluded me.

I knew I had a winner, but I failed when I didn’t actively do as much as possible to secure it, instead I took it to the park some twenty or so years later. By then it was within my graph to start some type of legal ownership, instead I had become comfortable, and was not pursuing a license, which cost me everything.

The moral of the story is, we are constantly praying to God for a way, but when He gives it to us, oftentimes we take it for granted, or not recognizing it as a blessing, and then we start to wonder why we didn’t receive what we were promised. After all, He did say, ask and you shall receive. I was angry when I didn’t get what I wanted?

Finally, I came to the realization that all blessing don’t come ready made, one size does not fits all, or in the form of money. Sometimes we have to work with what we have been given in order to turn it into something we want, including money or other worldly goods, but by now it was too late for that project.

What I learned was, A vision without action is a daydream; a daydream that could easily turn into a nightmare.

Just so you know, there has been more than a few people I decided to remove from my life, for whatever reasons, and there were those I found hard to just let go of, but, I found by doing so turned out to be proof that I could do better.

It took time, but I found some old friends to be exactly what I didn’t want, or need; I was being held back because I thought them to be real friends, even when I knew I was on the losing end of most things when it came to them.

But all wasn’t wasted, because I chose to extract the little good I found in some, instead of fuming or seeking revenge, which in turn motivated me to do more than ever to get what I deserved. I had come to terms with some people are only in your life for reason and a season.

I realized at some point we may not get all of what we think we deserve, or keep company with the people we want to associate with, even our wants can be unattainable. The good news is you do get what you believe, plan and expect if you work at it.

On the other side of the equation, there are ways and things that will make sure you never get to the level you deserve, for instance, if you’re too attached to things (and People) that don’t deserve you.

WORK IT OUT!

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

WORK IT OUT?

Hard work spotlights the character of people: some will turn up their sleeves, some will turn up their noses, and  some don’t turn up at all.  Sam Ewing

I am sure there have been some trying times in all our lives, and I am sure that quite a few of us have uttered that ole saying, “I’ve got to gain control of my life and get back on track,” or Why did this or that have to happen to me, has been heard all over the World.

As much as we want the plans we choose to work out, there are always plenty of ways for that not to happen. Leaving us to wonder why doors close, prayers go unanswered, and roads altered, creating detours.  It’s simple, first seek God’s plan, and His will.

A good place to start is through obedience, prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit. For a successful plan calls for us to be committed to his way. Romans 8:28 tells us For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor your ways My ways, declares the Lord.

And let’s not forget John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

With that in mind, often times in order to get our life back we have to face the death of what we thought our life would look like, coupled with almost everyone fails at who and what they are supposed to be at some point.  And that I can agree with because most of us are just talking about um A-gonna do this or that. Most don’t even take into account when the plan has been laid out that action is required.

For me, doing nothing is hard because you never know when you are finished, and the hardest part about planning is not to quit because it’s difficult.

If we press we can live a life of success, that is if we are willing to obey God’s Will and live at the edge of our abilities. Which is another reason we should try to understand that some things don’t always go the way we thought they should be because, if it didn’t happen, it wasn’t meant to be, what is for you is for you, and my favorite That’s Life.

Just remember it’s okay if you don’t get what you were hoping for, just be aware of the fact that what we want is  always harder than we thought, but all great achievements take time.

In my opinion, if you feel something wasn’t supposed to be in your life like physical harm, etc., personally I pray for a way to remove it, or move on. The fact of the matter is we all have to deal with the Good, the bad, and the ugly; standing still won’t cut the mustard.

There is another way to fix things instead of imagining, or wondering, coupled with guessing, is just to think about what you want to do then do it, which requires us to strengthen our Faith, and Breathe.

Did you know when we get it right there is an award? Yep, we get the opportunity to do more. I call that on The Road to Becoming a Pro.

Question: What if the worst parts of your life were the gateway to the very best parts you’d never want to be without? I bet you would find a way then.

PICK ONE, NOW OR NEVER?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

Colin Wilson tells us The average man is a conformist, accepting miseries and disasters with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain.

Just so you know, cows will stand in a field regardless of the weather until one takes the initiative to head to the barn, then they all line up single file, and follow that one cow to shelter. As lowly as cows are is in this realm, that one happened to be a leader and has taken charge of its situation, whether we understand it or not.

The percentage is pretty high that there will come a time when we all may have to take a stand. My advice is to take into consideration the words of Lou Hotz; Nothing on this earth is standing still. It’s either growing or it’s dying. No matter if it’s a tree or a human being.

The thing is we exist in a society of victimization where people are much more comfortable being victimized than actually standing up for themselves for a lack of courage.

Don’t be afraid to take a stand for yourself, or speak up even if you don’t get the answers you are looking for; it’s just the fact that you said something that matters, even if it hurts.

It’s a fact of life that sometimes the actions we take will leave scars, especially when we choose to stand up and fight for ourselves and others, but scars show toughness, including the fact that you have been through it, and you’re still standing is a Testimony.

It takes tremendous courage to stand up for what’s right, even if you have to stand alone, especially when you know it is unpopular. The thing is, it’s a true test of your moral character.

The wall of fear that may be standing in your way has no expiration date, it can stand in place a lifetime if the reason it was put there is not removed or at least addressed. Most times the problem is self-insecurities, like not trusting your own ability to fight for your own life (too afraid), the sorry reason the wall is still there.

Take back your power; your insecurities are what’s chasing and standing in the way of the freedom needed to live out your dreams.

Although some of us were not blessed with confidence, still we had better be aware of those that don’t fight back, just like you, sooner or later they will have to. So, it’s better to say and do something now: Let the World know you exist, because if you don’t, what you allow will continue, like it or not.

Don’t let anyone break your soul. You will have to stand on your own; stand up for yourself. Some, including family, would give anything to see you fail, but you must never give them the satisfaction. Hold your head up high, smile, and stand your ground fearlessly.

NOT MY FIGHT?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each page and sharing is encouraged.

ITS NOT MY FIGHT?

If you want to be strong learn how to fight alone, because the toughest battles you will ever have are the ones you have with yourself, but if you’re on the battlefield, know your enemy as well as you know yourself then you can fight a hundred battles without disaster.

There are intelligent and tactical ways to handle your business when it comes to avoiding some confrontations, all it takes is for you to put in the effort while using common sense; which is something that should be front and center at all times, while trying to ease the tension. Avoid being aggressive, if you can…

As for me, I know the best battle not to fight is the one that can be avoided, and the ones when there is nothing to gain by winning.

I suggest you pick your battles wisely because You can sound confident, but have extreme anxieties. Often times you can look healthy while you feel sick. Furthermore, you can look happy and be miserable inside, and you can be good-looking while feeling ugly. What’s even worst is you may have overestimated yourself and not be battle ready. So be kind because everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

Walk away from fights big or small; it’s hard but do it anyway, walk away from people who are trouble makers, gossipers, disrespectful, instigators, bias, etc… Believe me, I know walking away isn’t always an option, there will be times when we will have to stand our ground, whether we want to or not, especially if the battle is about moral issues.

When it’s all said and done Fighting is our last option, nevertheless, it is an option that can’t be ruled out as an option, so at some point you will have to make a decision.

So, if we must fight why not fight for something like Joy, Hope and Salvation? I know that that’s too much like right, but fighting doesn’t always mean physical contact, or mental insanity busting loose at the seams.

Obstacles are put in our way to see if what we want is worth fighting for, especially the things we care about. Anyway, I know It takes great courage to stand and fight for something, but sometimes it can take even more courage to walk away and leave things behind.

To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart. Eleanor Roosevelt

DO YOU, OR?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

DO YOU, OR?

Life is like sucking honey from a thorn.  Robert Duvall.

For me, it’s like getting a hit on the Funny Bone, and we all know there is nothing funny about that. But it is a reminder that the pain is real; as real as we need air to survive, water is life’s flow, and shelter before the storm is an absolute necessity.

Some of us are a work in progress, for others it’s debatable, but for most, life changes on a dime; that’s exactly why it is absolutely necessary to take a break, regroup, and renew at every opportunity for all the different reasons you may incur on your life journey; you know, things that could be detrimental to a sound mind, and body if not attended to.

But, then you have those that say, I’ll rest or sleep when I die. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how you are going to do anything if you’re dead? That type of thinking already has me exhausted. Although, sometimes in the worst of times we have to stop regardless of our obligations, even if it’s only for a few minutes in order to carry on.

The thing is whatever task we take on, chosen or not, it will take stamina and strength, combined with courage, a healthy mind, and a strong body that needs to be maintained and cared for. In other words, you need to be mentally and physically fit.

If you decide to take a little time for yourself, don’t waste time debating yourself about taking the time. What’s more tiring than defeating yourself with negative solutions when you’re supposed to be resting. Mental Health is so important but it doesn’t work well when we are tired and out of touch.

It’s ironic, but most people are quick to take any undeserved self-serving break for things that are of no account and may burn down the building going out the door, but that’s another story. For me, it’s a no-win situation; some of us may spend the rest of our lives wishing we had. That’s Life we take our chances, the thing is, I’d rather do mine in top-notch shape.

Give yourself a break from The Cloud.

Since so many of us are quarantined at home, we use the computer more than ever. Shut it down; read a book, watch TV, take a walk, reconnect with yourself, and stay away from the refrigerator; sing that song From the Window to the Wall.   🙂

If you can do without your phone, e-mail, FB, text messages, online shopping sprees, do without it, hide from the Cyber World for an entire day, if not, an hour is better than nothing at all. In other words, if it is not a catastrophe life or death situation, Do Nothing, but be warned, no matter what you decide, everything involves change, so Be Ready.

When we remove ourselves from an overload of information and in too many cases dis-information, it allows us to take Mental Breaks. The good news is those mental breaks coupled with a little peace are just what’s needed to refresh our learned capabilities coupled with our God-giving gifts;15 minutes or less is sufficient for most who take catnaps to refresh their minds.

Awesome Life Tips tells us, Sometimes you need a mental break and that’s okay. Whether it’s from the people in your life, or your daily routine, or whatever path you’re taking towards a goal, Breaks, and detours can be just as beneficial as the work needed to get you there; just listen to your body and act accordingly.

Give yourself a Physical Break, especially when hurting, hungry, or tired, it’s also okay to miss a day or two from work, the last thing we want is to exhaust ourselves, or infect others with colds, etc… Sometimes we have to take some personal time to clear our minds and bodies of whatever ails us.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand life sometimes won’t allow time off for various reasons, but if you don’t take the time your body, mind, and your feet will.

Learn to take a break instead of quitting. You have permission to rest, and it would help if you lighten the load of taking on the responsibility of trying to fix everything and everyone whenever possible. You do not have to try and make everyone happy, plus you’ll be better at it if you replenish your own worth first, not fall into exhaustion.

Sometimes, the only thing that should be done is to be still, and learn to appreciate the quiet and the beauty of being Surrounded by Nothingness; especially from all our emotions. Emotions have a reputation for running rampant; often filling our hearts with darkness or pumping so much adrenaline into our system we are running amuck with joy.

Oftentimes if we Calm Down, and Slow Down, it gives us the time we need to stand back for a closer look at what and who we are trusting with our happiness, our identity, and our self-worth. Sometimes we are too consumed with too many things, causing us to miss what’s really going on in our own lives.

When we want to get the right perspective we must see our situations from all angles, so we must take the time to access those around us; it’s good to know where we stand with them. It’s easy, just stop and take a peek, there is more to life than just rushing through it, and while you’re at it, don’t get too busy to NOT Notice Yourself, it may be just what the doctor ordered for you to catch up with you.

I just wish we all would open our eyes to realize that being in too much of a hurry and too this or that only leads to stress, but, if we paid more attention to ourselves instead of others, we may find we are a little too much in too many ways. I suggest you take a break from your worldly self set for all to see, and let your inner self free, from there you can build your strength and shift you’re pretend selves from regrets to dreams, which alone can help calm your nerves.

I’VE STARTED A NEW SERIES! 1

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

I’ve started a new series called Word Up, Short, and Sweet. Most times, in my opinion, it doesn’t take a lot of words to get to the point, especially if you are clear about what you are saying. You all know I am not long-winded; well-placed words will get you where you want to go, but, too many and you have talked your way right out of what you talked yourself into. That’s a Testimony.  🙂

Sometimes I see, read, or hear something I think is worth repeating, these words are so simple that the only thing needed is common sense. I hope you agree and enjoy it.

It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, to make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary.

Making yourself a priority is essential to being able to help anyone else. Once you choose yourself anything is possible, while reminding yourself that it’s okay to not be perfect.

Tell yourself and believe in your own words, tell yourself that you will never be too old to set new goals, dream new dreams, or reach new heights. And remember, the only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

The point is to never allow someone to be your priority, while they see you as an option. Mark Twain
