KNUCKLE HEAD?

Your assumptions are your windows to the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in. Isaac Asimov

When we say my way or the highway, are we saying our way is the only way that exists because we said so? Humility Rules tell us that, unfortunately, when we insist on doing or having everything our way, what usually happens is we just repeat someone else’s mistakes.

The thing is, it’s not hard to get your way since most people are followers, so they most likely will follow suit because of a closed mind or pure ignorance. Thank God, some think that’s too black and white.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. Terry Pratchett, Diggers

I believe in following my own dreams, ways, and plans, but I wouldn’t mind a little help if you know a better way. Plus, I am not impressed with people that know it all. That’s the kind of thinking that can be beyond limited and has a history of leaving some of us with a serious learning curb.

In my opinion, the problem with closed-minded people is their mouth is always open, so they are unaware of the fact that a closed mind, is a dying mind? The antidote is simply just closing all the doors that lead to shutting down the learning process.

There is no place in the Universe that I know of that would endorse a dormant mind. Not only that, a closed mind doesn’t allow thoughts, it only consumes problems. So try keeping your mind open to possibilities and your mouth closed on matters that you don’t know about.

All of us need mentors to teach us how to think, not what to think. Look at it this way, We cannot plant seeds with a closed fist. Plus, the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.

When leaning to our own understandings we often find ourselves frustrated, that’s because it’s a sign of acting too independently. No man is an island. The more we try it do it our way, the tighter the door will stay closed. Shutting off any hopes of renewal.

There has to remain some type of freedom for all to live, to think, and to worship; no books or avenues should be closed. The Human Mind is a terrible thing to waste. So, whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right. Henry Ford

In the meantime; “Just Don’t

Just don’t learn, experience.

Just don’t read, absorb.

Just don’t change, transform.

Just don’t relate, advocate.

Just don’t promise, prove.

Just don’t criticize, encourage.

Just don’t think, ponder.

Just don’t take, give.

Just don’t see, feel.

Just don’t dream, do.

Just don’t hear, listen.

Just don’t tell, show.

Just don’t exist, live.

It’s Something to Think About!

Jesus is Lord!

CAUGHT UP?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each page, and sharing is encouraged.

Recovery is hard, regret is harder, so common sense should tell you, if things go wrong, don’t go with them.

“We were never created to live depressed, defeated, guilty, condemned, ashamed or unworthy. We were created to be Victorious, through Our Savior Jesus Christ. I heard if we try to clean up our act, we can find Heaven by backing away from Hell. The thing is, will we do it, or will we become addicted to the heat?

You must decide, because not making decisions, especially when we are advantageous can be unwise, coupled with a wasted opportunity that if missed has the capacity to put us in a rut (losing our direction).

By the way, The only difference between a rut and the grave is the dimensions. A wake-up call, you think?

As most know, addiction is the condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity. Addicted is when we are physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, thing, or activity. The problem takes root when we are unable to stop taking or doing whatever without incurring adverse effects.

One of the ugliest things about having an addiction is when you can stop; you don’t want to, and when you do want to stop, you can’t.

There are a variety of ways people can become heavily addicted to substances other than drugs; there are fame, money, attention, etc. Oh and narcissism, you know, people who are addicted to themselves and are consumed with maintaining lies about how great they are, all for the sake of attention, which is a weakness that is hard to shake off.

Narcissistic, or not, everyone would be better off seeking respect, something that deserves attention and care. It’s as though our curiosity is looking to be misinformed with all the jaw-dropping information we find on the internet about pornography, anger, and rage, body imagining, violent video games, and the Fake News so many of us gravitate to. For what is my question; is it to experience a quilt, shame or embarrassment, by consuming all the filth? I would like to think not.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Traditionally, most vulnerable people suffering from an active addiction usually would not admit to it? The remarkable thing is they see everyone else’s addiction, but most don’t recognize their own until they genuinely try to quit something they claim to not be reverent. This is when all the problems come to the surface, and unfortunately, this is the time most discover their lives are in shambles. The question now is, do you battle fiercely for your life, or keep lying to yourself?

Rising above any addiction is not an easy task, but there are ways when trying to recover. For example; airplanes take off against the wind not with it, and that’s not easy, but you can do it by giving all the Glory to God, and all you have within you in order to help yourself.

So as most know, the only way out of any addiction is to fight it. Or die because of it. As far as I know, Addiction is the only prison where the locks are on the inside, and the only place that I can think of, where things can get lost for decades.

I’ve had my problems too; I was addicted to cigarettes for over 45 years, and I readily admit I had no intentions to stop until my bout with 3rd Stare Breast Cancer, made me.

The pain was enough to convince me I could not continue smoking. Some of us are not that lucky. I know one guy that fought through the pain and died from an addiction to cigarettes before invasive cancer could kill him. I guess his will to smoke was stronger than his will to live. It is a choice that bears a struggle.

Because of the Cancer, I had to have a Mastectomy. So, after the surgery and I was home alone, for the first time I lit a cigarette; the pain from that one puff dropped me to my knees; it was a pain like nothing I had felt before. But it didn’t take long for me to discovered nicotine was the culprit; I abandon my cigarette smoking before I even got off the floor. It hurt so bad that it was one of the easiest decisions of my life. As a Witness for Jesus Christ, if you want to, you can stop cold? I was forced, so in my case I thanked God.

Then again, everyone has a different story, but most can start to change theirs by telling themselves the truth, admit it to God, and tell those who need to know while taking responsibility. And stop trying to explain to others why you can’t stop. What needs to be discussed is what triggers your addiction; what are the temptations, what’s your end goal, and what would you rather do instead of supporting an addition?

A good start would be to generate a new beginning. Basically, all I am saying is, stop the blame game, be patient, research recovery programs, get support, exercise, eat a balanced diet, explore healing approaches, and seek Divine Help; which means, help from the Almighty God Himself, coupled with having enough Faith to know God is sending help to you when your own effort cannot produce a result. Luke 5:1-10

It’s something to think about!
