It’s not widely known that Santa Claus’s original colors were blue, white, and green, by the 1930s Coca-Cola had Santa in red, and a tradition was born. Did I mention the flying sleigh stories that began in 1819 were envisioned by the creator of The Headless Houseman in a dream?
Does anyone remember the Montgomery Ward Department Stores? The thing is they created Rudolph in 1939, but he didn’t have a red nose because the brass saw it as a sign of chronic alcoholism; they didn’t want a drunk looking reindeer. Rudolph’s only purpose was to get children to buy holiday coloring books.
Now, the part about Rudolph getting a red nose and Santa flying around the globe with magical reindeer is muddy. More research is necessary. 🙂

On December 25th Christians like us and all over the world know Jesus is the Reason for the Season. We celebrate his birthday because it marks his 1st breath outside the womb, and it marks the beginning of the earthy story of heavenly Redemption.
The 25th of December works for me because December 25th is all about “A birth and a death and eternal life.”
