CONNECTIONS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH PAGE, AND SHARING WITH OTHERS IS ENCOURAGED.
As most know, Thanksgiving got off to a pretty rough start; there was blood, a population decimated, and someone’s head ending up on the end of a stake. After all the shenanigans people were finally able to sit down as a family, eat delicious food, watch parades, some even traveled.
As for me, I have a love it or hate it relationship with Thanksgiving. For instance, I have noticed it’s a lot earlier to forgive family when the food is good and your belly full, but it may be a trap, I was told when the Indians invited everyone over for dinner, after dessert their guest killed them all and then stole their land. That was not a good look for any affair.
Still, I can’t think of a better time than Thanksgiving to tell yourself some lies out in the open, for instance, while eating dinner you announce you’re going to start a new diet after this Thanksgiving Feast, only to be caught struggling to carry five containers of food to the car.
I love Chicken Fingers it’s one of my favorite foods, but it’s one of the foods not allowed simply because it’s Thanksgiving. It is said to be Socially Unacceptable. Who made that up, and who would have thought Chicken Fingers would get the boot? The thing is, some things seem to be insignificant when you have them, they only become important when you need or don’t have them.
Just so you know, this year’s dinner may be at the home of another, so start by being thankful to the host.
Here we go, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but the average American gains 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years.
In my opinion, Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, so I believe If you are not thankful for what you already have, it’s hard for me to believe you will be thankful for what you’re going to get in the future.
I didn’t forget about Football, and I certainly haven’t forgotten the closer we get to Thanksgiving the more it feels like Christmas, because of a bombardment of Yule Tide advertising.
Everyone has their quirts including me, so if you don’t have Cranberry Sauce in any form, dinner is ruined for me. But just for the record, I bring a couple of cans just in case. Personally, all I want is the Ham, Dressing, Potato Salad, and of course the Cranberry Sauce.
As most know Thanksgiving is going to be very different this year, including some of us giving Virtual Hugs, and some not at all, because of The Pandemic, like the one that is washing over the World called COVID-19. But I am confident that most of us will manage to connect to family, friends, and others, although it will be a real challenge. I can’t tell you what to do, but for the safety of those you love, and a few maybe not so much, wear a mask.
With all of the complaining I just did, I really am thankful for every minute of every day. You?
