CURIOSITY, A CURE FOR DUMMIES?
My favorite words are possibilities, opportunities, and curiosity. I think if you are curious, you create opportunities, and then if you open the doors, you create possibilities. Mario Testino
I was in a dispute with a certain someone when they mentally checked out and suggested, I may be The Dumbest Of Them All. The thing is, all I can remember thinking is, the dumbest of them all is standing right in front of me, casting off nothing but negativity.
I’m not interested in anything negative, I have even been known to give myself pep talks in order to create mental stimulation, on top of being an optimist…but, back to being called out as dumb. The mouth that uttered those words had better have some receipts to prove it. Don’t they know I have some God-given gifts? For starts, I am a naturally curious person.
No one is dumb if they are curious. The people who don’t ask questions remain clueless throughout their lives. What I want to know is how can we not be curious?
I ask questions all the time and then I look around for all I can master with the knowledge I obtained. By using that practice I found, The art of asking questions is the source of all knowledge? Thomas Berger. I also discovered if we are curious enough about ourselves to take a genuine interest in the details of our daily lives, by asking questions, the rise in our level of intelligence may just surprise some of us who thought themselves to be slow.
Did you know, curious people are creative because curiosity bleeds knowledge and puts intelligence to work. And did you know, An investment in knowledge pays the best interest? Benjamin Franklin The fact is, curiosity demands the information intelligent people seek.
Dummies are not curious in the least, this brain-dead culture is what causes most to miss the opportunities knowledge unfolds. They dismiss information for a variety of reasons; One is to not look stupid when not knowing the answer, which never works, so just ask a question so you will know the next time. And stop using common excuses like; Oh I know, when you don’t. Most know the problem is our pride and possibly a fear of learning.
Y’all know, I am in favor of getting out of your zip code; at least long enough to be curious of how the other people live, or if only to discover what they know that you don’t. I can almost swear by You’re Only As Good As Your Teacher; whether it be your family or others all the way to strangers lying in the gutter. You can only be taught as much as they know, and everybody knows something you don’t.
Curiosity is one of the world’s greatest resources and its FREE.
When we expand our interest further than our County Line we broaden our horizons. By exploring, we can fully realize what a vast world this is with all its opportunities and wonders most never knew existed… Let curiosity move us from being a dummy to a scholar?
We are all blessed in different ways so some may remain dumb or disinterested, but all is not lost. If you have at some point tried to make things better, and I mean anything, you may be on the road to improvement; one curious moment, with the right perspective, may be the very thing that changes your life.
It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out we can change our way of life through knowledge, and there is no need to stress out because there will always be someone smarter. All I am trying to say is, move on to that someone who’s smarter than you, and allow them to teach you a thing or two. Learn all they have to give then share that information to help ignite the curiosity in others.
It’s a ladder people, one that requires growth through checking out new things in order to obtain more knowledge, the type we’ll need to pull ourselves up, especially if we want to get ourselves out of the dreaded crab barrel, but that’s almost impossible to do if we continue to surround ourselves with the crab-like people and the things we have outgrown.
Aren’t you curious enough to want to know what’s it like to not have hangers-on sucking the life out of you?
Educate yourself, unless you like where you are, wherever that is.
You do you! I am going to do me by allowing curiosity, instead of laziness coupled with fear to lead me anywhere that I can find usable knowledge, and I’m following my advice in order to stay out of the void. I don’t know about you but my mind continues to run like a word processor because just because, I’m Curious.
Did you know it takes a lot of work to ignore what you’re interested in? And, it takes courage, and change, to be successful?
There are a lot of ways to upgrade! For instance: We all know birds of a feather flock together so If you are a failing student, try hanging out with students smarter than you; choose some decent C (average) students, after all, they are doing better. C students should hang with the A students, in hopes of at least becoming a B student. To some that may sound like I need to find better ways, but we have to get life right anyway we can, so something is better than nothing; what’s your suggestion? In any event, it is what it is; and you are still only as good as your teacher.
All I am saying is we can’t learn from those who don’t know, and curiosity has been proven to be the driving force to overcome that. But be advised, nothing is 100. Nothing is set in concrete, even for those who seem to be hopeless; just know that change is always available from, too and for people.
I employ all of us to let our imaginations to run wild with curiosity, to go where no man has ever gone before, especially when its necessary to maximize and understand all sides of the spectrum. Curiosity, Stupidity, Brains, Brawn’s, and Intelligence have been known to balance each other out, so we need the correct mixture of all five of them starting with Curiosity to have it all.
It’s Something To Think About!
