ASSUMPTION, CLAPPING BACK, AND SOCIAL MEDIA?

Just so you know, the phrase Clap Back from the Urban Dictionary means to return the fire or a diss.  It’s just another fruitless phase we don’t need, like payback or a tit for a tat.  Just the mere thought of these comments carries an aggressive attitude.

To Assume can have several meanings that most are familiar with.  An example is to take over the duties or responsibilities of…  An example of Assuming is to assume everybody wants peace.  An Assumption can be a problem, it’s when we make a decision concerning something we know nothing about.  Some like to call it An Educated Guess.

When we make an Assumption, we must take in account our decision may be flawed mainly because an assumption is based on it just makes sense to me.  It’s common for us to trust our own abilities to make credible assumptions, although most are Void of Facts, we are still willing to pass them on as if they were the gospel truth, and then we spread that information we heard, or assumed, without seeking proof. 

The New Norm is cruel, the slightest little bump can cause a temper tantrum, and we Clap Back (respond).  Today our responses can travel at the speed of light, opening the doors for all cowards, devils, and devil-lets to have at it while Hiding behind Technology, often ignorant of the power it holds, and or the consequences.

With all this power at our fingertips; Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of the gang, you would think we would Think before we act.  What happened to Do unto others as you would have done unto you?  I’ll tell you, it has been replaced with You came for me, so I am coming for you.  Most know what I am talking about: No one messes with me and gets away with it.

Everyone is not out to get us, but some like to apply the one and done rule.  Sometimes things just happen, like mistakes. 

As for me, I don’t care how you read it, write it or say it, the results are always the same; You Reap What You Sow.  The thing is, the pay back is always ugly especially if the drama was generated from our limited knowledge instead of facts.  A popular excuse when this happens is, It looked like.

Now what I said doesn’t mean we are always wrong when we assume some things, anyway who would know better than us, after all our judgment is flawless?  That is until we are the one looking totally incompetent (like a fool) trying to make a fool out of or destroy someone else.  And of course, most times all this clapping back, payback or whatever you want to call it happens in secret, because it’s Evil, and evil is mostly done in the dark and meant to hurt.

What hides in the dark will soon come into the light.

I am warning you, Do Not Clap Back, but I didn’t say you should not respond at all.  There are right and wrong ways to get our points across.  I know it’s hard, but at times, a response may not be necessary.  Use your Brain when addressing an unfair assumption, and if you have to clap back, do it Privately. 

Recently, someone tried to call me out on Social Medal, yeah I was mad but I decided to find out what prompted this attack before assuming anything, so I called them; when they didn’t answer, I sent a  text via cell phone, from there we were able to open a dialogue and our friendship was spared.

Social Media is not the place to air out our differences with ill thought out Tweets.  Taking the sensible route won’t work all the time, but all you have to do is be the bigger person and try.  It’s easy to get caught up in self-ignorance that may later lead to not only the downfall of the innocent but you too.      

Now don’t get it twisted am not letting anyone off the hook, but for me, getting caught would be embarrassing enough, others don’t care; nevertheless; Vengeance is mine saith the Lord.

Now, when I feel the need to Clap Back while thinking I got it all figured out and ready to make a stand to support my fact-less assumptions to all who will listen or read it, I know It’s time to stop.  Checking ourselves is one of the hardest things to do, with our I know it all perfect little selves.

All I am trying to say is it would not be wise to put words or actions before facts.  This move will unlock the doors of ignorance, causing us to act just like the one who decided to throw us under the bus.  This is not you, it is of The Devil, and he goes by different names, often using common names, like yours and mine, but his favorite is Anonymous?

When supposedly Mature People don’t have respectable conversations with each other, in a positive manner, children pick up on it; who are they to emulate?  Oh! I forgot, there’s always technology; now you see me, and now you don’t.   How courageous.

May I suggest before making any more brave assumptions, or assuming anything else after this post, next time, Check the facts before you put anything on Social Media, or say something fact less out of your mouth, better yet realize; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.   2 Chronicle 20:15.
