A CURE FOR THE AGING?

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.   Proverbs 16:31

Most people hate the aging process because they fail to realize birth is a gift from God, and aging is a work of art.  So we go merrily on our way until the concept of time is understood, perhaps that first fine line was the tellng point, whatever happened we now realize, time is no longer a friend to be taken for granted.

Most times the battle begins when our attitude changes about that old saying, I have all the time in the world. How we fare depends on how long it takes us to realize how serious time and the aging process really is.

Some try everything in their power to slow time down, especially seniors.  Why not, we all know time is the reason we age, don’t we?  What most don’t know, or don’t care to know, and will not accept is, It is what it is, and it’s all up to God?
He said You can do nothing without me.   John 15:5  KJV

There are people who are banking on Science to find that one cell that controls the stay 21 forever gene.  The overly fit are keeping their heart rate up until it almost burst.  I heard it only has so many beats.  Oftentimes we do things to keep us forever young that is killing us to no avail.  The Pharmacy for these remedies/creations is a testament to that.

I know some of these products appear to do what they say.  I think it just looks like it because I believe, God’s Go It All In Control.  And I believe the only thing that slows down death is death.

I can understand us wanting to look and smell good, and there are ways.  Some dye their hair to gain that elusive youthful appearance, although the package clearly states this product may do this or that if you had or have this or that, among other warnings.  But who thinks or care about that when vanity and pride are at the forefront, and who believe Reading is Fundamental anyway?

It would be great if the shelves in the Pharmacies were full of products that affect wisdom, maturity and new opportunities, but there is no fun in that, especially when we are spending all our time and money trying to relive a time that has passed.

The options are, we can grow up and live life as best we can in each season, and perhaps if we stop spending so much time staring in the mirror looking for signs of becoming decrepit, frail, and sick, we can eliminate the worry lines simply by drinking water.  A gift from God that can restore, replace and improve, but…

We are quick to buy anti-aging creams while claiming we don’t like the Bread of Life: (Water)  God gifted us with this miracle drink that is keeping us alive and we are taking it for granted.  Have you ever wondered why you are having so many leg and hand cramps, or itchy dry skin?  Have a glass or two.  Now you know.

When we can look at our aging selves and embrace this is who we are now while realizing age is not a loss of youth but a growing arsenal of knowledge, we’ll be okay.  And once we understand it’s not how old we are, it’s how good we feel, we will be able to do even more.  And know, aging isn’t a thief, it’s a way of life.

I love my wrinkles, most times, after all, some of them were smiles.  Okay, frowns too.

FYI: The young are no more immune from death than the elders, although they think so.  The graveyard is a testament to that.  So as we try everything possible to get that youthful glow back, most remain annoyed and that make us look even older.

Other problems besides the loss of time and money, is worry and there is no doubt about it builds stress, plus those memory loss pills didn’t do what it said they would do.  That alone help makes us old-looking.  Oh well, that’s advertisement for you.  May I suggest mind-challenging games.

At some point, we must draw the line and start living in our truth.  The Bible tells us in 2nd Corinthians 4:16, So do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

There is a reason for this aging thing, and it’s all about The Glory of God, splendor, strength, wisdom, and understanding, not looks.  We are all made in the Image of God.  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:  Genesis 1:26   What’s wrong with that?

As quite as it’s kept, isn’t it everyone’s goal to live a long and fruitful life?  Well, it’s mine, and I know the Only way to get old, is to live.  I also know one of the Commandments suggest you Love your father and mother so that your days be long on this earth.  You don’t need a pill for that.

Just so you know, Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.  Job 12:12

Even Jesus Christ started in the womb and aged until he died on the cross, what make you the exception?

ASK ABOUT EVERYTHING!

ASK ABOUT EVERYTHING!

Some people think asking questions is a show of weakness, I think not asking questions is a show of ignorance.  I Ask About Everything.  Especially the I don’t want to sound stupid questions.

Asking questions sounds as if you are aware of other things besides yourself (conscience) and looking for answers.  Who would have thought you had it in you?  Your willingness to learn just goes to show how much others don’t know about you.

Never be afraid to ask whomever, a mentor, parent, friend, teacher, especially God.  There is a penalty for not asking, and that is you’ll never learn if you fear its answer.

I know am only a speck it this Wide World but it’s my speck and I want it, and I want to have the ability to understand it.  How do we get there?  Asking the right questions is a good start coupled with at the right time and to the right source.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraided not; and it shall be given to him.  James 1:5  KJV

You can do it, you can Ask God for and about anything, something I can testify to.  I am a 3rd Stage Breast Cancer Survivor of nine years.  The key was I went to God even before I knew the Doctors weren’t optimistic I told God, he said all I needed was the Faith of a mustard seed.  Now with Cancer, it was the time to put His Word and My Faith to the test.

I know only needing the faith of a mustard seed sounds too small and too easy, and a lot of people don’t make it because of that, and it causes others to lose Faith when they feel God has failed them.  Everybody has to go at some point.

When it’s not our time to leave this Earth and we have a real relationship with Jesus Christ, we can defeat the hardships of this World, and when we can take Christ at his word while laying all our concerns on The Altar of Prayer without any doubt, we can achieve all he has promised.  He did it for me so I know he’ll do it for others.

Ask, and it will be given unto you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.  Matthew 7:7-8 KJV

Most know we don’t do that, we listen to ourselves and waddle in our misery because we never ask, or if we do bend our knees often we pray the Why Me, Lord prayer.  Our ears and mind shut down when we are in trouble or just plain ole stupid.

There is a Spiritual order and I learned before we ask God for our desires, especially for our life, we should take care to think about what He has asked of us.  Laws were laid down long before our time; the first Ten, are Commandments.  Guidelines that need to be practiced to get to the finish line whether it is sooner than we think or not.

Most know talk doesn’t make things happen, prayer does and it’s a process that starts with the Commandments, and that requires action, so we should ask ourselves a number of questions before we consider what to ask God for, or what to say to others.

Try this: First, think about what you are asking for then ask God what to do and how to do it.  For instance, before lying ask why lie; ask is it worth it; how many will it hurt and can I live with the repercussions?  Ask what may happen if we choose not to lie, what will happen if we say nothing?

Saying nothing…sometimes says the most.   Emily Dickerson

I don’t mind asking God about anything, especially what is said by prophets and teachers.  I check in with Jesus Christ and then check their credentials for falsehoods.  You Do You, as for me, I’ll be asking questions and seeking answers at every turn, and Googling them is a part of it.

Can any hide in secret places that I cannot see him? saith the Lord. Do I not fill Heaven and Earth? saith the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24

Just so you know, while the false are looking in, am looking out and asking plenty of questions for protection.

There are a number of reasons that could hamper us from finding answers, one is not asking the question, another is we didn’t use common sense, etc… More importantly, we need to know when asking questions is not enough.  At some point, we may need to quit asking questions and take action.

Often we ask, more like beg for what we feel we deserve, for instance, happiness but with conditions.  That’s not how it works, happiness is something we feel; a choice we choose to embrace, and it can be found in achievements and creative efforts, not asking for God to give it to you, although you can.

I Ask About Everything for knowledge and understanding, at least it helps me to understand why I don’t get all I want.   ; )

Most days I ask myself if am doing what I believe in, and am I doing them for the right reasons, and I wonder if we don’t ask for help, will anyone get the opportunity to be helpful?  Aren’t we supposed to be in support of one another?

Asking questions is the source of knowledge, so in my defense, I believe my greatest strength is I am ignorant enough to ask a few.  Do we have that in common?

FYI: When asking questions concerning our sinful ways, The only thing to do with sin is to confess, ask for penance and then, after some kind of decent interval, ask for forgiveness.   Joseph J. Ellis

It’s Something To Think About!

Thank you, Lord, for all you do and it is in Jesus name that we pray.  Amen
