LOVE, HATE, AND FAKES?

The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and to also love our enemies; probably because our enemies are the same people.  G. K. Chesterton

Friends are people who are on good terms with each other, such as a patron, or supporters that are attached to one another by feelings or personal regard, next door neighbors.  In other words, they genuinely like each other.  But some say our friends could be our worst enemies, and in some cases, that’s true, but I also found them to be the reason I learned my most valuable lessons; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

We can be on guard against our enemies, but it will take God to delivered us from a friend.  Charlotte Bronte

Just to stay on the safe side I believe we should be aware of any friend that turned into an enemy, they could have been hating on you from the beginning, and only God knows why.  Oh! By the way, the best way to keep your secrets from your enemies is to stop telling your business.

Enemies are people who feel hatred for, fosters harmful designs against, or engages in antagonistic activities against another; an adversary or opponent.  Perhaps The Devil himself.

A man who hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that stick closer than a brother.  Proverbs 18:24

FYI: If we want to know what the enemy look like, first check to see if he resembles you.  It is a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him into evil ways.  Buddha

I found it’s easy to find where a person stands as a friend, just have a bad day.

Misfortune tests a friend and detects enemies, and I found most friends have the same enemy.  Well, good for them, but I’ll do my own assessments.  Sorry, I choose for myself and I can’t hate another because my friend does, but I will be cautious; I know friends come and go, and enemies accumulate.

Do not repay evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.  1st Peter 3:9

A Frenemy (fake) is a person or group that is friendly toward another because the relationship brings benefits, but harbors feelings or resentment including rivalry.  A fake is a person that makes themselves as attractive as possible, in any aspect, to trick or deceive.

Since the word frenemy is new, I also understand it to mean, a person disguised as a friend who is not interested in keeping your best interest at heart, but you wouldn’t know they despise you or know that they are saying and doing you wrong, behind your back.

Our false friends are like our shadow, keeping close to us while we walk in the sunshine, but leaving us the instance we cross into the shade.  Christen Nestell Bovee

Okay, I have to admit, Frenemies give us one advantage: It gives good reasons to appreciate good friends.   🙂

I would suggest in order to protect ourselves from these predators, we invest in the people we know will feed us just as much goodness as we do them because The man of God is competent, equipped for every good work.  2nd Timothy 3:17  Are you?

CHANGE DIRECTIONS?

CHANGE DIRECTIONS?

Satan is very crafty, he will guide us to the wrong path without our knowledge, causing life to go in a direction, not of our choosing.  That’s why we need to adjust from time to time.

Having a goal will allow us to control the direction we want our life to go in order to pursue our dreams.  Look at it this way if you find it suitable.  We have choices.

The Pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.  William Arthur Ward

Some things stick with us all our lives and there are times when some of those things are not clear.  We wonder if it happened, did we read it somewhere, if so is it true, all the while wondering if we have been lying about something so long we don’t remember what really happened?

Often we get so wrapped up in our own misconceptions we miss the truth.  A sure sign we need to Change Directions.

Any type of change will require effort, courage, purpose and direction; it was not meant to be easy nor was it meant to be all bad.  Don’t despair when things don’t go your way, maybe you were meant to be deterred.   Lori Noebe

When I was a little girl I had a recurring dream; a snake was chasing me with a Big Red Kisser. (lips)  This snake chased me all through the house night after night between the ages of five and eight.  In my dream, I ran up and down the stairs barely escaping this snake so large it had a difficult time navigating space in our tiny home.

Although I ran passed windows that showed the light of day and children playing in the street, I did not think to escape by going outside.

I will never forget the relief I felt when I finally ran out of the house, with the sun shining on my face I was without fear.  Nowadays I wonder what took me so long to do something different.

What matters is I did and I learned a lesson that influences my decision-making to this day.

It was a Go into the light Carolan moment when I took a different route to except the Serpent.  I even remember the end of the dream; which is rare.  I was standing outside with the rest of the kids, and while looking at the house, I was hoping the snake was trapped.  I worried if I went back in would he still be there?  I never dreamed that dream again… until years later when I was a grown woman.

I believe the dream was a lesson and an awareness that if I wanted something to change, I have to be the one willing to do something different to make that Change Happen.  It took a long time for me to realize I had to stop running in circles in the middle of a task.  Now if it doesn’t work on the second try, I Change Directions.

The moral of the story is when we step outside the box and abandon what we usually do, situations can make dramatic changes in our favor.  Maybe we were on the wrong path trying to go the right way?  We need to understand we can’t run away from our problems, but we can change the situation for the better if we make some adjustments.

As a young adult, there came a time when I was having problems I couldn’t resolve.

On one of those sleepless nights I dreamed about that serpent with the Big Red Kisser; it had been years.  I believe that dream I dreamed as a child was meant to help me as an adult if only to remind me, I had to change directions again, but this time by coming up with a new plan that included Jesus Christ.

We need God in our lives.

The Spirit embedded in me as a child, gave me the knowledge and strength as an adult to stop hiding from whatever is chasing me, which included the knowledge that there is more than one way to skin a cat, Change Directions.  Sometimes we get addicted to the same ole same ole; look around, you may be going South when you should be headed North.

I believe we have been warned and each of us in their own way no matter how silly it is to our peers.  Am sure most have had their moments, I just don’t know if anyone is paying attention.  We all should know circles start and end in the same place, and just because the road is crooked doesn’t mean it won’t get us where we’re going.

Have Faith in God, sometimes we have to slow down even speed it up, change our ways or step back when necessary in order for Jesus Christ to clear the path, or build us a brand new road to take.
