BELIEVE UM THE FIRST TIME!

It is a puzzling thing. The truth knocks on the door and you say, Go away, I,m looking for the truth, and the truth goes away.  Puzzling.  R. Pirsig

It doesn’t matter how high or low we are on the Totem Pole when a person tell us who they are, especially if we haven’t asked, Believe Them The First Time.  Once you have been told, there are those waiting for you to do or say something stupid, contradictory to who they say they are.  The old folks say; You don’t believe fat meat is greasy. (hardheaded)

As far as I am concerned, You are who you say you are until you’re not, and my opinion will not be based on what I think I know or what you look like…

Some of those who tell their story are banking on us to have problems with hearing and or accepting the truth.  Often we throw everybody in the same category; The Liar Club when they share something personal, like good news, so telling the truth is a bonus since you won’t be believed regardless of the truth.

Now don’t get me wrong, I know some Christ-like people may not tell the truth, so I rely on my faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ; Action proves words.

It seems as if we live in a World that is a huge arcade, full of games designed for the shrewd to eat the very life out of those that don’t play well.  For safety purposes don’t you let the “New Norm”, Greed Rules, be your Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

A fool, the one who know you better than you know yourself, is just that, a fool until he realizes he knows nothing about you; some never get it.  Normally it’s our actions that are the eye-openers.  If you say to me, I am this or that, my response is nothing less or more than what you said about yourself, and I will believe you until I find the truth or prove a lie.

It’s correct to give people the benefit of the doubt while being cautious.  The last thing I want is to be caught in a snare and looked upon as easy pickingsThank God am not one of those who believes I was given some type of insight the rest of the world is not privy too.

It is my belief if we cannot accept the truth, or have some perception of a lie, especially when it comes straight from the horse’s mouth, is foolish?.

Listen while you can hear, there are some who believe, We believe in what we know the least of, hmm, and there are those who believe This is the chief occupation of mankind.  Wow, what a thought and if that’s true we have some real issues with trust and beliefs, creating confusion for a number of reasons, one is our emotions.

Emotions often come into play when it’s about our own personal brand of knowledge, and that is, it is not to be doubted or questioned, even if the facts have been altered.  So with this flaw, we still stand by our guns, just to be shot down when the truth finally rears its head, then most just pick themselves up and act as if nothing happened. (shamed, or not taking blame)

I wonder if some were born with Lying Eyes, that dominate the mind, with their self-proclaimed abilities.  I understand there is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.  Although we all see things differently, I believe some build walls to separate themselves from the truth.

It’s amazing to me how one with a blinded mind, having absolutely no idea of who or what we are, can conjure up the ability to tell our life story and all we have to do is walk across the street.  I believe phony people know who they are and what they do, so they just do what they do, intentionally, it’s in their DNA?  I pray the world is not returning to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah; Where the bad outweighed the good.

Speaking of walking across the street, a few years back a woman pushing a baby stroller passed in front me and a friend as we were waiting for a traffic light to change, suddenly this friend announced how disappointed she was in this young lady, even after the lady had passed the rant continued.

She complained about the woman having a baby out-of-wedlock, she talked about how disappointed her mother had to be with her having a child at such a young age, and she added, this young lady was probably living with her parents.  I was listening and feeling sorry for that woman until I asked my friend how long has she known the woman with the stroller.

When she said she had never seen her before in her life she just knows people, I was through, I learned something new about this friend, something I didn’t like; she knew too much about something she knew nothing of.

I now have a limited connection with that person; too overly opinionated for my taste, I discovered who she was through her actions.  Am sure there are others that speak about those they do not know as if they were connected at the hips, or a Fly on the Wall.  Perhaps we have all done it, but now I know to check myself.

What about those who feel as if they have the right to be a reckoning force when it concern matters full of unsubstantiated data that is filling our heads with opinions full of nonsense, doubt, and discouragement?  I say pray for them, we all claim to know something different.

For insistence, To Tell The Truth is a sure way to be labeled a liar, so if something happens they can honestly say, I told you, and they would be right.  So I’ll say it again when someone tells me Who They Are, I Believe Them the First Time, they have my full attention, and if they are not who they say they are, their actions will expose them eventually.

So I watch and wait until I can get a clear vision of who people really are by putting on my listening ears, and wearing my common sense like an overcoat, especially if they have a seemly negative attitude.

Just so you know, there are people who know the, To tell the truth, tactics and know the payoffs well.  It may be possible from them to sniff you out, and perhaps play on your mindset.  You know?  Everybody is a liar cause you know it all, so they’ll tell you the truth, but you won’t believe them?

For some reason, we just can’t hear the truth from someone else, some say we lean to our own understanding, making the job of a liar easy.  The smart tell the truth, whether it for a good cause, morals or not, they know most won’t accept it, especially if it is way out in left field. (ridiculous).  Believe me, there are some strange things that can and will happen and be true.

Smart people also know it’s best, to tell the truth; because it’s easier to remember what is said; Lying presents its own set of problems; Besides forgetting what we say, we run the risk of our noses growing longer and longer for the World to see.

Will it ever end?  Probably not in my lifetime.  Until then, I will continue to take people at their word by believing in them the first time, then take that information to Jesus Christ and ask him to be my fact checker so I won’t have too many issues about what they say next.

BLACK HISTORY SOLUTES JOSEPH H. CHERRY, A FAMILY’S LEGACY!

In 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white person on a bus in Montgomery Alabama sparking The Civil Rights Movement which leads to a boycott of the cities bus services creating a lack of transportation for Montgomery’s Black Citizens, especially The Help.  (maids, and nannies)

This Post is in honor of my grandfather during these historic times, The Civil Rights Icon Presiding Elder Joseph H. Cherry, a 5-time Church Builder.

Presiding Elder Cherry was chosen by his peers to serve as Chairman of The Transportation Committee of the Alabama Improvement Association, which was created because of the Alabama Bus Boycott of 1955-56 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King to provide alternative transportation.

FIGHTING; WHO, WHEN AND WHAT FOR ?

Contacts can be found at the end of each post, sharing and hitting the like button is encouraged.

FIGHTING; WHO, WHEN AND WHAT FOR?

There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill Of Rights.  Herbert Hoover

I agree, but if you are not comfortable enough with yourself how are you going to defend your home and freedoms?

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles.  Then the victory is yours.  It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.  Buddha

Just so you know, if, when or why an unfortunate situation gives a reason for some to put up their dukes, before that happens I would like to suggest we take a positive position to generate Christ-like thoughts before any battle or we may find quite a few challenging moments.

We need to know where we stand, and fighting is a sure way to find out.  It’s also a quick and often painful way to find out if we are living a God-filled life.  The outcome of that fight may determine just that; Are we living a life that is our dream or a nightmare?

I don’t know about you, but the hardest battle I ever fought was all about what I knew, opposed to how I felt, (a loved one, etc.) so I had to start looking at things in a much broader fashion because there are some people who see a great deal in something and someone else sees very little in that same thing.

At times we may have to just wing it; Friedrich Nietzsche reminds us of this; In some situations, there are no facts, only interpretations.  To help burn up some of that energy, maybe if we learn to recognize a resemblance on both sides maybe we can begin to see how unique they both are.  It’s all in how we see things or not?

A good start when in the moment is to think first, punch last, it’s simple, Lean not on your own understanding, choose Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and Read the Bible.  But, some people feel as if where they’re from will make a difference in the outcome, often proclaiming in the heat of the moment, Do you know where am from?

The only way I would be able to tell where someone, is from, that will make a difference is if they were a Viking conjured up from long ago, other than that living in Detroit or some city never heard of don’t make you a better fighter, but it can make you an overrated victim.

Simply put, we are all from somewhere; It’s who you are that’s unique not you are on the block.

If you’re running things and your desire is to stir up trouble, you may have missed the point of what it takes to lead.  Wise up, The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting?  And just for the record; There are lots of conflicting different opinions when it comes to who won the fight, so it’s a good idea to have someone in your corner.  How about me?

My name is Norvie L. Cherry and I am a Child Of God’s, so if you really want to fight, fight with me, this way we can become Allies in Christ.

I found most well-rounded people have a sense of appreciation for life mostly because of experience.  They have known struggle, suffering, defeat, and loss.  Because of that, they have gained a sensitivity for the lives of others from a personal level stemming from learned concern, gentleness, and compassion.

Most of us know the ultimate battle is just getting started, even when fighting someone has to throw the first punch.  In unique cases, (war, etc.) the action to fight is more meaningful than words.  Let’s not leave out the fact that action also proves words. (making a commitment).  I believe making a promise is a far more difficult task than falseness.

I read Fighting is essentially a masculine idea; a woman’s weapon is her tongue.  If’s that’s true I see no way out of fights because history has proven when all the words have been said we will now fight about anything we dislike; how somebody looks, their sense of humor, their opinion, etc.

But if we fight for the right reasons and arm ourselves with skills and Faith in Jesus Christ, we will be prepared to the tee.  Only Christ can tip the scales of success if we have to fight, and when we do we must fight to win.

If we must fight be sure it’s for a worthy cause; pain is real, regardless of its origin.  The Bible tells us Know ye not that those who run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain it.  Corinthians 9:24

And as far as physical fighting goes, Mahatma Gandhi tells us An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind, and the conqueror Napoleon Bonaparte warns us to Not fight too often with one enemy, or you will teach him all your Art of War.

I USED TO…BY ASSOCIATION?

Contacts can be found at the bottom of each post, and sharing is encouraged.

I USED TO…BY ASSOCIATION?

It’s sad to say, but there was a time when I Used To be a better friend to people who were pimps, drug dealers, and abusers then I was to Christ.  I was under no illusion of who these people were, just like I am under no illusion of who God is.

I knew exactly who and what I was dealing with and what I was capable of, still when things went wrong I was quick to blame them.  It took some time but I finally figure out my actions were my fault, not my friends.  I was doing what I wanted to do, and doing it all by choice.

That’s the point; it was my decision and a poor one but I hung in there because we were friends, and I wasn’t willing to upset the apple cart; Things were good.  I even had morals but that’s just another excuse, I was trapped by association, even when I knew us to be wrong I fell in line.  There was no need for Satan to waste time getting me to go against the Will of God, I was already a willing participant by acts, deeds, and Association.

For the rest of the story get your copy of I Survived 60 Years To Get Cancer, Then Kill It./ Norvie L. Cherry at xulonpress.com/bookstore

As time passed and I was still playing along with what I knew to be wrong I started to question my position.  Every time I got into trouble, not once did I cry out to my so-called stable environment of friends, it was always to Jesus Christ.  I knew they couldn’t help me when the promises were made.  I knew the Lord from childhood, and because of that knowledge, I was able to reevaluate my life and get on the right track.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 22:6  KJV

Now don’t get it twisted, that verse doesn’t mean we will be near 100 before we get it right, but with most of us, it may take something drastic to turn ourselves around.

I stayed in the mix because I thought I had control over me and I was doing My Thing when in truth the ones I was following instead of Jesus Christ were the ones with all the power.  I was allowing them to make ill thought out plans that included me and they resulted in nothing but hardships, coupled with I had a deep sense of their warped abilities to fail from the beginning.  How Stupid Is That?

There is a lot to that Biblical saying You reap what you sow.  I wasn’t listening because the people and things around me were cool in my eyes, but to the rest of the world, we looked like fools.  I was just another lost soul under the illusion that I knew more than you and you and you; especially you. (Parents)  Which turned out to be the worst mistake of my life, coupled with a false sense of security.

I did things by sight, smell and sound, not sense.  I was young, and I wanted my way coupled with a willing to get it at another one’s expense.  I hope you understand am not using my youth as an excuse for bad behavior, but as a Testimony to when we think we know more than our Seniors and exercising that assumption using age as an excuse to rebel, knowing all the time some of us was taught to know better.

If that’s not true why do we hide our injustices for the sake of the next big adventure?

One of my favorite statements when trying to explain my way out of stupidity to my parents was You’re Just Old And Don’t Understand.  Not once did I think the reason they knew all my so-called game plans was because of age; Another word for Experience.  Our Seniors are the ones with most of the knowledge, and because of that fact, we should be hanging on to every word that comes from their mouths instead of shelving them to the side claiming their outdated.

What could my friends do that God couldn’t?  Ooh, they could get me out of jail on some small charge but God could see to it that I never go back.  Then there was that problem of smoothing everything over with the parentsThe thing is neither God or my parents was the reason I was in trouble in the first place, but naturally, it wasn’t my fault either, it was my associates and yours.  🙂

Aging with Wisdom is the key to a successful life including owning up to our shortcoming and a willingness to Change Our Ways, especially our Associates.  So perhaps losing a few troublesome friends might not be such a bad idea.  By the way, if the ones we call old has something to say they now have my attention because it takes someone who has lived long enough to tell us how to survive this world with minimal damage, especially when it seems as if we are in the Land of the lost.

There is only one way to get old, and that is to live and learn, coupled with, If God grant you with an abundance of years, you may get to see how you may have appeared to others years ago when you thought you knew everything.

Just so you know if you were a follower, what you see, hear and recognize in the years to come may not be pretty.

It’s Something To Think About!

Get behind me, Satan.  To God Be The Glory, and it’s in Jesus name that we pray.  Amen!
