A NEW YEAR, THE NEW US?
Every New Year I try to make Resolutions I can keep, and at the end of each year, the first thing I resolve not to do is make any at all. What’s a girl to do, sometimes it seems as if life is a double-edged sword, well at least for me? Coupled with, it’s all my fault, am the one who created all the I will’s and will not’s.
As you can read am about to make Resolutions again. The reason I continue although I say I won’t is because I believe there will come a time when I will be able to keep them. The last thing I want to do is miss a blessing because I gave up too soon.
I have Faith, and I understand Nothing beats a failure but a try. Plus, I never heard of anyone making Resolutions that call for their own destruction. I know I could be wrong, but I did say I never heard of…But, there are some strange birds out there doing what’s called The New Norm? Now, I am not so sure anymore.
But, there is something I would like to say, in prayer, before the arrival of This New Year, and that’s Thank You, Lord for last year, and as we move forward into 2017, I want to Thank You Lord for allowing us to Breathe In The Breath Of Life, once again. We could have been dead and gone like so many before us, but you choose to let us live. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Amen.
With my new set of Resolutions, the one’s I wasn’t going to make, I tried to keep them simple, so let’s pray I’ll be able to keep at least a few of them.
I resolve to stop using I forgot as an excuse, although I know that’s going to take some work.
I forgot is one of those staples we Seniors use when we don’t want to be bothered about something we don’t want to do. It’s also true that we are forgetful, so sometimes it’s true we did forget. But this New Year instead of using age as an excuse, I’ll simply answer, in a Christ-like manner, yes, no or maybe, then forget. 🙂
I resolve to stop counting how many words there are in a sentence and start listening to what’s being said.
Okay, some friends may not believe that, but I was better than the year before when I made that same resolution, plus practice makes for perfect. That last part is what I call a good excuse.
I resolve to not carry into the New Year, The Devil made me do it. Well, whoever made you do whatever, it certainly wasn’t God.
Sometimes we create our own drama before the day even begins, often saying we got up on the wrong side of the bed. So, instead of blaming You, the Devil, and God for everything, I am taking responsibility for my actions, distorted or not. Help me, Jesus!
I resolve to stop acting as if my observations are the only correct ones and stop judging people I don’t know, labeling them devils or devilets.
I will honor and respect the fact that there is only One God and only he know how many devils there are and who they are. And, by staying in my place, with the help of Jesus Christ, maybe I can become a better person and keep my resolutions instead of playing detective, judge, and jury where I don’t belong.
For, He hath made the earth by his power; He hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12
Soon we will ring in 2017, and if the Breath Of Life is still in you, Then God have spoken, and Let The Church say Amen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.
