EVEN JESUS PRAYED!

When in trouble we look for ways to solve our problems, going to great lengths, using all our known skills to reach a successful conclusion except for one.  Prayer!  The last thing we think of in times of…. Prayer will catch up with us if we continue to fail, eventually, it will dawn on us that it is our last resort.  Even Jesus Prayed!

Christ was probably in a continual state of prayer, as we should be.  The Bible tells us he prayed alone, in public, before and after meals, when making important decisions, while being tortured, etc…  Jesus prayed that he may do the Will of God, and He prayed while taking his dying breath.

Father into thy hands I commend my soul.  John 6:16

Often before trouble strike, we are already per-planning what we are going to do about it, instead of Praying over it, if it happens or not.  It’s sad to say but this is about the time most start to formulate little white lies, then fantasize about the outcome.   And all of this playing out in their heads as if it’s a movie.

When we think a crisis is only seconds away, we can’t help but take action; quickly and without thought…  On the other end, too many laid out plans cause some of us to lose focus on the Now.  Troubles will continue to eat away at us if our life is lacking The Power of Prayer.

What takes us so long to pray?  It’s not like someone is watching, it’s a private thing until you tell.  Most of us, if honest, know prayer is the last thing we think of when in need of it.  A few of us are quick to say I’ll pray for you when others are voicing their problems, if only for the sake of sounding Christian-like.  We are so, so-called busy, we don’t even bother to pray for ourselves.

Prayer doesn’t become important to some of us until the bottom is about to fall out.  The Bible tells us to Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17  KJV

We try everything available to ease whatever our situations call for, most times to no avail.  Perhaps it’s that same ole line of action.  Not Humbling ourselves to God.  In this world, trouble will never cease, but rest comes to those who take refuge in Jesus ChristPrayer changes things.

Of course, we have to do more than just stay on our knees.  Help yourself, try putting an effort into what you prayed for.

Just so you know, Martin Luther believe The fewer the words the better the prayer.  Samuel Chadwick said Prayer is the acid test of devotion.  And John Bunyan tells us Prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan.

The Bibles tell us The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.  (Psalms 34:17, KJV)

Did I mention in order to be heard there are some qualifications?  Just in case I didn’t, we have to have a Humble Heart coupled with Wholeheartedness, Faith, Righteousness, and Obedience.

It’s Something To Think About!
