Knowledge of God’s Word is a bulwark (protection) against deception, temptation, accusation, even persecution. Edwin Louis Cole
A temptation is just another name for the Devil, and he is following our every move, taking note of all our personal desires; offering things that are “Too good to be true.”
Yield Not To Temptation! Don’t get caught up in the desires of your flesh?
BEWARE of weak moments; for out of them, some may never recover. Stay away from coveting (wishing for) things that are not yours. And if you are not interested in the rules or consequences about the things you desire, you can bet the Devil is in the details, you may be caught up.
We can really create a stench when bathing in our vanities.
Satan knows when it comes to our flesh getting what it wants, we are not above telling a little white lie, cheating someone, stealing whenever we can, killing one another; often over a pair of tennis shoes, or creating false god’s and more.
What better time than now to reinstate our resolve to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ? That action alone may get us the desires of our heart, eliminating the need to step on or over others.
Jesus Christ promised if you Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalms 37:4
Now is the time to be the Person of Our Words. Give up the Um-A-Jumbo. Who knows, some of us are awarded second chances. Even the ones we don’t believe deserve them, but that’s not our call. Mind your own business.
For those who need a little more, an extra push, what better time than now; The beginning of a New Year?
Don’t be the one who cling to that same ole “Um-A-Gonna Attitude” in 2016.. That’s just who I am, don’t work because, the um-a-gonna’s is a lazy negligent excuse; sometimes a straight out lie. We know there are exceptions, still there are quite a few who never even try to get out of the gate..
The Um-A-Gonna’s, and its first cousin, I”ll do it tomorrow, have never finished a single task. Well, for all I know, not in my lifetime.
The Bible tells us in John 15:5: You can do nothing without me. KJV So far that verse has proven to be true; at least in my case. If we do not obey the Laws of God, coupled with all talk and no action, few will get the results they desire.
Matthew 26:41 warns us to: Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
In 1868, Horatio R. Palmer, an author, blessed us with the Gospel song Yield Not to Temptation. The words he penned are some of the to best to reflex my meaning as a whole, and it’s far simpler to understand than anything I could have authored, especially for starting out on the right foot, in 2016.
Yield Not to Temptation!
Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin; Each vict’ry will help you some other to win; Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue; Look ever to Jesus, He’ll see you through.
Refrain: Ask the Savior to help you, Comfort, strengthen, and keep you; He is willing to aid you, He will carry you through.
Shun evil companions, bad language disdain, God’s name hold in rev’rence, nor take it in vain; Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true; Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through.
To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown, Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down; He who is our Savior, our strength will renew; Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through. Horatio R. Palmer (Public Domain)
I Can Testify! Although time don’t always heal, a change of heart can be the start of an appeal.
God is Good! It’s in Jesus name that we pray. Amen!
