On the 25th day of December, we as Christians will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The thing is, I can’t find anything in the Bible that relates to how to celebrate His birth, as it relates to the Christmas Holiday.
I did discover that there are a few things we should do in relationship to this Glorious occasion, and some things we shouldn’t.
Such as; while celebrating the Birth of Christ, coupled with the passing out and the receiving of gifts, remember as Christians; The Reason for the Season is to celebrate Christ, period. Not what’s under the tree.
For, No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon. (Money, or what it can buy.) Matthew 6:24
As we are preparing to eat that special meal prepared with love in this all important season, if you’re more excited about what’s on the table, coupled with not blessing the food because you’re hungry, and if the table is blessed, pray no one is complaining that “Aunt Bessie prays too long.” Focus people.
If you are not giving all To The Glory To God, I have a question for you; Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? (Clothing) Matthew 6:25
If not, then you may be worshiping idols; Christmas or any other day.
An idol is anything that replaces the one true God. In other words; anything that is more important to you than God, such as that Christmas present you didn’t get, leaving you mad as… is an idol.
Although the Bible does not tell us how to celebrate His birth, it does tell us what to do since his Death; which happens to be something I think we should do everyday as we fellowship together.
And he took bread and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, this is my body which is given for you: This do in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19
Not only on Christmas Day and all the days to come, I will not only do things in remembrance of Him who died for me, I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1 Gift or no gift.
It’s my opinion, and It’s Something To Think About!
