UNSOLICITED ADVICE!

17 Dec

Where there is no counsel, purposes are frustrated, but with many counselors they are accomplished.   Proverbs 15:22  The Amplified Bible

But what about unsolicited advice?

Did you know, most want to be the advisor; willing and ready to give advice whether the door for others to receive it is open or not?  They found; It’s easier to advise, then be advised.  Some never understand; A word to the wise ain’t necessary, it’s the stupid ones who need the advice.

I’m sure some of us know the fastest and surest way to lose a friend, is to provide advice to a situation that did not require our opinion?  And some of you know, small talk is just another example of unsolicited advice.

In my travels, it seems as if a good scare is worth more to a man than good advice.  Also, it seems as if when unsolicited advice is offered, the hearer receives it as if the advisor has no confidence in what they are capable of; so these options may not be advisable.

In all fairness, the one about a good scare don’t sound too bad; I have had the mess, scared out of me, and on more than one occasion; all because I rejected some sound advice while knowing better.  But Thanks be to Jesus, I learned my lesson, and I found other ways to stop the barrage of unsolicited advice without hurting myself along the way, and still not alienate the advisor.

The solutions sound easier than what they really are.  What we have to do is try not to defend or explain our choices; It’s a waste of time anyway, and you do not have to explain your business to unwelcome onlookers.  In most cases, they only want to be heard.

If you receive an e-mail simply choose to ignore it.  If face to face simply say thank you, or I’ll consider what you said, then continue doing whatever it is you were doing, your way.  If that doesn’t work, change the conversation.

All I’m saying is if you want someone to shut up, just agree, then go do you.  Walk away, go to the bathroom, etc…  I found its best because most unwanted advice often comes from those who need it the most.  I don’t want any trouble, as you know we can be touchy when people are in our business.

Oh!  By the way, I wasn’t trying to give you advice, I was just wanting to be helpful.   🙂

God help us from those who believe only they possess the truth, but as we stand committed in our truths, help us to commit to staying Flexible in our approach.  Give us a listening ear so we can receive good advice while having the common sense to cast out the bad.

It’s Something to Think About!

Thank you, Lord, and it is in Jesus name we pray.  Amen!

Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the web the simplest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get
irked while people consider worries that they plainly do not
know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out
the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
