Thanksgiving?

Did you know thankfulness is to be appreciative; and Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings?   W.A. Ward

We cannot pick our families, but we can choose who we sit down to fellowship with.

Therefore; Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You choose and cause to come near, that he may dwell in Your courts!   Psalm 65:4  The Amplified Bible

For quite a few of us, the Thanksgiving Holiday means extra days off of work, an array of good and not so healthy food for all to enjoy, parades, and of course football games.  Oops, let’s not forget family and friends, while keeping a close watch on the door, in an effort to keep you know who out.

Satan is always banging on the glass, asking to come in, especially if it’s a bonding session.  He knew on these occasions a misunderstood word or gesture can complicate a good meal, therefore creating and non-Christian like environment that can destroy the Thanksgiving Spirit; disappointing the pilgrims.  (Children, the un-involved, etc.)

With so much confusion and different activities going on, perhaps we are missing the whole meaning of Thanksgiving?

Did you know, Psalm 92:1-4, from The Bible Truth, tells us: And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will… God does not compel us or require us that we show gratitude to Him?

The meaning of Thanksgiving (1st Corinthians 14:16) is the language to be used as an act of worship intended for only God?  And thanksgiving is the means whereby we acknowledge the receipt of God’s forgiveness.

So the true meaning of Thanksgiving is a relationship between God and man.  It’s an attitude of the heart, and that reinforces the relationship.

And, did you know some of us to realize He is worthy of our gratitude?  We belong to Him and have been blessed with life; an abundant life when we give Him all the Glory.

So, this Thanksgiving Day and all to come, before we start enjoying the festivities, let it be your will to Giving thanks to the Lord, for he is good.  His love endures forever.    Psalm 136:1

Then pray for peace.  🙂

Thank you, Lord, for each new day, for our health, the air we breathe, good food, our loved ones, and friends.  Let us be a blessing to all those we come in contact with.

Thank you for everything, your Grace sends.  It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we pray.

Thank you for your support.
