DID YOU KNOW? #20

19 Feb

Truman Capote tells us; Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.  Often after a slew of fail attempts, success has a well-balanced effect, much like a good meal when all the sides work well with the meat.

Did you know, The bitter truth is better than the sweetest lie.  Yes, the truth hurts, but little white lies often turn into big black holes, and sacrifice calls for self-denial, hard work, dedication, and respect for authority.

Did you know, if your sacrifice did not cost you something worthwhile it was not a sacrifice?  Now, don’t get it twisted, some things we call achievements are really just our responsibilities.

If we never take a chance on how far we can go, we will never know our limits.  Take a risk, and step out of your comfort zone, you may find your purpose or some talent you did not realize you had.  I never could write, and I still can’t, but I do better than I thought because some of you are reading and enjoying me.  Don’t that count for something?

If you want to feel the real satisfaction of what an achievement can bring, make sure the task is difficult.  Anybody can do the simple things and some of what’s mandatory.  It’s the hard things we avoid.  If we put the work in, we may gain the type of success that’s worthwhile.

Remember the choices we make are our own responsibility.  Choose wisely.

Did you know, every family has their black sheep, saints, fools and geniuses?  And not one of them should be treated the same, and not one of them should be thought of any differently than the rest.  Just do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and pray they reciprocate.

Did you know; “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision?”   Helen Keller

Remember that ole saying, ” I have forgotten more than you will ever know?”   Well, that may be true, but at some point, we all will gain some degree of knowledge, just some more than others.  The success from that knowledge is in the wisdom from the lesson, so in case you didn’t know, that’s what we want to linger.  (The wisdom.)

Did you know, a good friend should tell you the truth?  And their opinions should be valued for their sincerity and truthfulness, if not, find a new friend.  Or change you, if the shoe fits.

FYI: We all have our flaws and our good points, just remember that when taking others into account, you may not be the only one who thinks you’re all that, others may think you are too.  Don’t let them down.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us food for thoughts.  In Jesus name, we pray.

Perhaps you planned all along for the post to be about not letting doubts stop you from following your dreams and quitting your day job,
however readers scanning subheads will not comprehend that.
They will just feel confused. If you are listing different “methods,” “actions,” “techniques,” “indications,”
and so on, to achieve what the headline of the post assures, keep
    the format constant.|
Bloggers overlook this all the time, but it’s easy to fix as soon as you understand it.
If you separate your subheads from the post and list them back to back, you
can see if any stray from the course. State your post is called “12 Ways to Treat Insomnia” and
you have a subhead for each of the 12 ways.|
Let’s say your first few subheads read as follows: Workout Every
Morning Avoid Caffeine Like the Plague Awaken at the Same Time Everyday There is Absolutely Nothing More Sleep-Inducing Than Evening Meditation Something there feel a little off?
The very first 3 subheads start with an action verb instructing readers what to
    do.|
But then the 4th subhead all of a sudden changes the format and
breaks the circulation. It does not start with a verb and it’s a lot longer than the others.
This inconsistency may appear relatively innocent,
but it’s sidetracking to readers. Let’s face it, readers today
are info-holics. We all are. So tired old advice isn’t
    going to suffice.|
My advice? Note your main points and see if you can include a special perspective,
experience, or twist to them. Something readers
aren’t expecting. What belief systems have you learned to challenge?

What do you understand that the majority of people do not?
How can you shed new light on an old issue? What techniques
do you utilize that others won’t know about? You don’t desire to go overboard simply for the
    sake of adding shock value.|
But spitting up old recommendations does not challenge you
as a writer, nor does it enlighten your audience.
So pour your readers a little espresso for their info-hangover by delivering
the unexpected. Countless posts have actually been blogged about blogging,
however how many have called you out for being dumb or informed you to change your pals ?!
Jon does simply that by knocking you over the head with some hard truth bombs about what
it takes to make it as a blogger.
