Social: To be involved in activities, friendly, and enjoy the company of others.
Media: Communication; able to speak and or write, and be understood.
Hence, Social Media, what happened to “keep it clean?”
Social Media has arrived on the scene and nothing is the same, especially how we relate to each other, often hiding between words, like the mean-spirited cowards some of us can be…With all this wealth of new information and personal opinions, I still look to the heavens, where all my strengths and common sense comes from.
Through all of the years, I have been here on this earth, no matter how much talking I did no one really heard me. The reasons are simple; they were not listening, some didn’t respect anything I or others had to say, or they were not interested. Although we know these things, sometimes we just can’t shut up, even when we know our opinions have fallen on deaf ears.
One of the most important lessons I learned in life was; just because we are right, doesn’t mean we have to point it out to everybody. Just know what you know, and realize no one can take that from you. You’ll get a chance to display your God giving talents, or the Devil’s will, if that’s you, soon enough.
I feel like most of us do when we dare to think what we have to say is that important to others, just to get kicked in the head when the rest of the world choose to disagree. We all want respect and the ears of a good audience when we are speaking. It’s when we have to listen to others that create a problem.
Who cares about what others have to say anyway?” That statement is a learning curb that stunts our personal growth.
How many times have you been asked in mid-conversation, “Who died and made you Lord of everything?” For whatever that mean, the thing is, no one ever let me finish a single sentence, so I know I can’t be the reigning Queen of talk. (Royal rule)
I would just like to say something without some other taking it to another level, and turning what I began to say into a whole new conversation. Beginning with, “I said,” and me ending it with, “No, I did not say that, in the manner of which you are speaking, that’s another conversation, because “You didn’t let me finish.” Trust me, that is a conversation I am tired of defending, simply because it was not my original intent in the first place.
I am definitely guilty of having that same disruptive attitude when someone else is speaking; interrupting them in mid-sentence, and on more than one occasion. But, I believe now, some don’t want to hear what others have to say because; A fool take no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his own opinions. Proverbs 18:2 ES-V
I believe some stay away from the words of wisdom. Not me, I have lived long enough to know 99.9 percent of what I am talking about through experience, pain, and joy. Because of that, I am able to speak on certain subjects with a fair amount of creditability; But when I write, I sometimes can get it right. No interruptions, even the television has to go.
When writing we have to stop and think first. When speaking, most times what comes up comes out. I am not trying to change the subject but, when listening, “Never take the advice from someone who has never experienced the situation.” I learn that the hard way.
I know some people think they are so smart, it’s easy for them to answer a question even before it has been asked. Not me, I still have to listen until I can’t; the perks of a senior citizen. May I suggest we make our ears listen first, so we can avoid arguments later, and gain knowledge for the effort.
I found joy in life by painting pictures using words of encouragement, and I solved my problem of never being heard by writing down what I have learned in a Blog. This way I can only be interrupted by my foolishness; which can cause me to lose focus if not careful. (Phones, etc,) And I really can spell, but my eyes don’ see the mistakes or my fingers recognize the error.
I said I was happy, not flawless.
Anyway, only those with a thirst for knowledge will read of God’s plans for them and His great mercies, then pass them on without a hitch. Is that you? It’s Something To Think About.
When writing; because of the research involved, I have learned more than I expected and I discovered, “There is a difference between happiness and wisdom: “He that thinks himself the happiest man is really so; but he that thinks himself the wisest is generally the greatest fool.” Francis Bacon
Just because you wrote something, don’t mean others have to appreciate it. So, don’t get it twisted. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Plus, its social media, what were you expecting?
Take into consideration, before using your fingers to do all the talking, that this still applies: A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him wise in his own eyes. Whoever send a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his feet, and drinks violence. Like a lame man’s legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouths of fools… Proverbs 26:3-12
In other words don’t buy unto all you read, hear, or pass it on. But, as far as I am concerned, if what you wrote, heard, or speaking is rooted in truth, and referenced from the Bible, I will shout it out from the highest hill. To God Be The Glory!
Did you know, “it only takes a split second of not listening or one-off the wall statement on social media to ruin your entire life, and the lives of others? So, be careful of what you write for all the world to see. Words have a tendency to speak out loud and bite us in the butt, with a bigger and more aggressive crowd looking in when we are making a fool out of ourselves.
FYI: As a Living Witness I can verify my words through other people who witnessed what I am speaking about, or from the Bible, which gives clear directions.
Social media is an amazing tool and the ultimate equalizer if used property. Blowing events and situations out of proportion, including taking things to the dark-side, can make for long-term impacts with fatal conclusions. Don’t go there.
I believe the whole purpose for social media is to be used as a catalyst for the advancement of everyone’s free speech rights, and another outlet for growth, through knowledge; whether the content is agreed upon or not.
This tool was not meant to slay us as some seem to think, and do. May I suggest it was invented for all of us to get on the informational highway of life, sharing good news and sound advice to all who would listen.
Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us others way to express ourselves without foolishness coming from our mouths, our hearts, on printed paper, and especially the “new norm.” The Internet. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
