Most of the time we try to stand alone in our decision-making, and at times this can create problems. We need something other than our own understanding, we need the kind of resourcefulness that comes from above.
When making decisions, and looking forward to the best possible outcome, we need Jesus Christ, as well as our allies; especially when utilizing what’s in our hearts, that is pure.
We need help, even Rome wasn’t built-in a day; “You win by making tough decisions and building coalitions.” (An alliance, a partnership.) John Engler
The consequences of making bad decisions often hurt our closest friends and family, causing us to have regrets. Still we must hold ourselves accountable. “He that is good at making excuses is seldom good at anything else.” Benjamin Franklin
One way to avoid the effects of making bad decisions is to make sure our value’s are clear, and we can stay committed to our decisions, while remaining flexible in how we approach them. Sometimes there is a better way, although it was not our approach to gain the same or similar outcome.
Keep in mind: “A wise man makes his own decisions, and an ignorant man follows the public opinion.” Get the facts straight before making a decision, for sometimes they can be life changing.
When we make up our minds to “get the job done,” “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” Paul J. Meyer
“The greatest battles of life are fought in the silent chamber of the soul.” David O. McKay
FYI: When making up our mind, and promising to commit to a decision we have made, Matthew 5:36-37 ( The Amplified Bible.) sends out a clear message;
And do not swear by your head, for you are not able to make a single hair white or black. Let your Yes be simply Yes, and your No be simply No: anything more than that comes for the evil one.
Lord Jesus we pray that in our decision-making when we choose wrongly, give us the strength to rebound and change a negative into a positive. In Jesus name we pray.
