DID YOU KNOW? #11

If someone asks something of us or we volunteer our services, in order to spice that thing up in a Christ-like manner, we must not measure it’s worth as something we can buy.  For sure we can add something that is Hugh and of little cost; Sincerity, and Integrity, and the things of the Heart, especially the ones that build Character.

Did you know, “Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye,” ( H. Jackson Brown)  and that can cause problems because the bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?

Did you know, that some of us know the best things in life are unseen; for instance, Jesus Christ:

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”  Colossians 1:5

In case you didn’t know, “Setting goals is the first in turning invisible into the visible?  Tony Robbins

Just one more thing, did you know, you have enemies?  That is if you ever stood for something worthwhile, or tried to make something right.  If not you are free to live in a godless world and you are also free to suffer the many consequences that revolve from that (carnal) world.

It’s in Jesus name that we pray.  Thank you, Lord!

THE COUSINS: ENVY AND JEALOUSY

“The cousins: Envy and Jealousy”  have similar traits.  The kind that can send disappointment and sorrow coursing through our bodies at an alarming rate.  Spreading vengeance and hate that can spiral out of control and no one wins, especially the hater.

A person intent on living in the world through the accomplishments and blessings of others have no real sight of themselves.  Short-changing their own potential by not putting forth an effort concerning their God-giving talents.  “I wish I was like Mike,” instead of I am the best me, there is.

So, don’t get it twisted,  Mike’s life may not be that grand.  People only show us what they want us to see, causing some to see their Mike, and or things I cannot name through “rose-colored glasses.”

If we work as hard on our own lives as much as some do try to emulate someone’s else life, and successes, perhaps we can create the greatest reward within ourselves.  Who knows, with a little effort we may learn to love ourselves, especially if we can understand our feelings.

Envy: A feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another person advantages, success, possessions, etc..

Jealousy: Jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc..

It’s easy to compare those two emotions, and neither one of them is to our advantage.  What is for you is for you, so being envious or jealous of what belongs to another is not worth our time or energy.  Therefore, no matter how good that thing or person may look to our deceiving eyes, what is for them will never materialize for you.

We must understand that there is nothing someone else has that is designed for us.

When we covet (which is a deadly sin) what another has and try to be or do  ‘just like that,”  that thing is certain to fail.  And that failure is caused by a long list of this is how not to succeed.  Setting our goals based on what is in the life of others, wishing to have what they have is a waste, and that’s at a premium; Our precious time, never to be regained.

We all have our own unique style and needs.  “I knew you before I formed you in the belly.”  (Jeremiah  5:1)

Therefore, by doing someone else, we may never reach the level of success we are supposed to achieve, resulting in never reaching our full potential.  As I said before, “what is for you is for you,”  and that don’t include the theft of another one’s world.  We are all different, designed by the Master Planner, “Our Father which is in Heaven.”

When we desire the things of others, and try to take them by force, the punishment is quick, “Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy:”  (Jealousy)   Proverbs 27:4   You will fail.

Envy or jealousy, which ever we choose to call the cousins, who’s nickname’s happen to be, hate and greed, have been around since Cain killed Able.  As a matter of fact they are the reason for the murder of one brother visited upon the other.

Some have a sense of insecurities, wishing they had what is unobtainable to them, causing some to feel less than, and start to berate themselves, creating greater insecurities even in their personal relationships.

Some believe in keeping up with the Jones-es.  Buying that new toy, (cars, and all things we can’t afford, etc.) instead of paying out debt, causing us to deny or miss out on our own uniqueness.  (What’s for us.)

Those who practice jealousy will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”    Galatians 5:20-21

Jealousy is a pain in the craw, because when someone has something we don’t, that’s a direct problem with our faith.  Not trusting what Jesus promised.  We need Christ to change and deliver us from our fears of not having what we want and need, to deliver us from desiring the possessions of others.

In John 6:35, Christ tells us: I am the bread of life; he that come to me shall never hunger; and he the believe on me shall never thirst.  Meaning, all our needs will be met through our faith in Jesus Christ.

“Envy is the art of counting the other fellow’s blessings instead of your own.”  Harold Coffin

We must take into account, that to be envious coupled with happiness at the same time does not exist.  And understand,  “Envy has its advantages: it’s better to be envied than to be pitied.”  Herodotus

Pitied: A sympathetic or kindly sorrow evoked by the suffering, distress, or misfortune of another, often leading one to give aid to or show mercy.  I am looking for success, not pity and  “I pity the fool”  who is not.

In order to stay in right standing before God, there are some things we need to take into consideration and one of them is:

Envy and wrath shorten the life and carefulness bring age before the time.  Ecclesiastics 30:24  (King James Authorized Version.)

Beware: Envy, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. But you know that, don’t you?

Lord help us understand that the only thing we should desire are the things that are given to us by you,  In Jesus name we pray.

A REPUTATION FOR GIVING!

Reputation: A favorable and publicly recognized name, for merit, achievement, reliability, etc..

I try not to spend a life that is full of  “guess what I did.”

Our reputation is in the hands of others, that’s what a reputation is, something we can’t control.  “The only thing you can control is your character.”   Wayne W. Dyer

Everyone has a reputation, but its value depends on what others think.

Our reputation is something that sums up who we are, whether we are in favor of another opinion or not.  Still, we must be “fair and balanced”  to all.   You know, Do unto others as…

And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the Devil.   1st Timothy 3:7

We all want the world to know when we have done something good and we want to be praised for it; But the bible says in Matthew 6:1-8

Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your father who is in heaven. “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.  “But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret.

And,  “A single lie destroys a whole reputation of integrity.”   Balthazar Grecian.  Tell me about that one.

In order to gain a good reputation you must be who you say you are. Our reputation can travel faster than we may think, especially with the help of the World Wide Web. One can survive everything nowadays, except death, and live down everything except a good reputation., achievement, and reliability.

Thank you Lord for your wisdom.  In Jesus name we pray.

LOOKS ARE DECEIVING!

Sometimes, the look we think we get from others, look puzzling, causing us to wonder if we are dragging toilet tissue stuck to a shoe, or some other ungodly  “Oh, No!”   Sometimes when people look at us, we think we know how they see us, most of the time getting the wrong impression. This can cause second thoughts.

With some of our heads stuck in the  “I know everything”  mode, it’s easy for us to ignore the fact that others may not have seen us at all, possibly looking right past us.  Have you ever waved or smiled at someone waving and smiling at someone else?  Most of the time we only see what we want to see anyway,  just like we have selective hearing.

We are so vain.  Anyone want to argue that point?  Me either.

Sometimes, when people do take a peek at us, and we capture that moment, we may believe we can read into what’s behind their eyes.  Perhaps, “They look like they could cut your head off, etc…”   It’s that  “know it all, it looks like, attitude that causes our imaginations to run wild; well at least I am not the only one guilty of that

Some of us have the tendency to accept whatever we dream up as the gospel truth.  We are so sure of what our irrational minds (Satan) tells us, we place ourselves on an unshakeable platform that is 100% whack.  What a setback; that’s crazy to me, and an almost fail-safe for the Devil.  I said almost.

“Did you know”  there is nothing to hard for God to overcome that involves your life, if you let Him?  But, there’s a but, and that but is: You must know him and he you.

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?   Jeremiah 32:27

Satan love’s it when we think we are the “cat’s meow.”   Our  “I can do it all by myself”  attitude, can leave us stuck in a system of devised stupidity.   But, thank God, we know Jesus Christ, he alone know what we need before we do, and he is the only one able to deliver the goods to whoever is helping us, so they can help us, in this carnal world.

FYI: Every time I hear the word impossible, it has come from the mouth of someone who is negative.  Pay attention to who you are listening too, “bad information is as bad as no information.”

We are so full of us we have a tendency to get lost within our selves, short-changing our worth.  And since we know every little thing, “who needs it anyway?”  We, at times, think we have all the information we need, and that may be true, depending on what type of information we are seeking.

Careful now, if what we seek is not of God, it will never be found in this lifetime, or any other for those of you who believe in that kind of stuff.

We have to nourish our individual appearances, no matter if it’s emotional, physical, or mental, to be the best we can be in our walk; a Christ-like look and actions are required; just in case you didn’t know.

Sometimes, when we choose to keep a low profile, (which to me is rare, or sneaky, etc.)  and not express, or even be a who we are to be, in Christ, we can come off looking as if we have a less than desirable opinion of ourselves, slow to be assertive, or if the truth be told, we don’t have a clue, and some just don’t care.  One can only work with what they have, “it is what it is.”

We must create something useful to and for others; this is what will make our look and time on earth count.  So take a mental note: shutting down is not one on them.  That’s worst than being a loud mouth with no justification.

FYI: Some loudmouth people know what they are talking about, so they keep shouting to get our attention.  Just keeping it real.  But, if you really, really, really want to be seen, and heard, tell the world that Jesus Christ is Lord, and let the world, like it or not.

We must step up to the plate and proclaim Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior, and we must sow in order to reap.  There is a lot to the ole saying, “Give in order to git.”

I just want to add, sometimes the look of modesty can lead to self-destruction also.  There seems to be a good and a bad to everything.  Let me explain myself, some of these looks are not honest.  So, pray for the best.  The Lord God Almighty said for us to come boldly to the throne in prayer.  And, it does not matter what shape the world is in we still need Jesus Christ to live, and he is waiting to take us to the next level.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.   Hebrews 5:16

There are no bad looks and misunderstanding worth our concerns when, “What shall we then say to these things: If God be for us, who can be against us?   Romans 8:31

Thank you, thank you Lord,   In Jesus name we pray.   Amen!

DID YOU KNOW? # 10

“Did you know'”  the bible tells us in Romans 14:17 that, For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

“Did you know,” our peace comes from within where all our power is, and anything outside of that has no power over us.  So, it’s important for us to realize God has a greater plan, and that plan does not include pain and suffering.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end.  Jeremiah 29:11 Thank you, Lord.  In Jesus name, we pray.  Amen

DID YOU KNOW? # 9

“Did you know?”  Some of us are so faithful about certain things, we are still paying a handsome price to stay in a crooked game we are sure we will win; but when?

“Did you know,” there is only one way to happiness, and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.”  Epictetus

For God give to a man who is good in his sight wisdom and knowledge, and joy.   Ecclesiastes 2:26

Thank you, Lord.  In Jesus name, we pray.  Amen

STAND BY FOR A MESSAGE!

An unhealthy mouth and an unclean body are by no means an advantage.  Some of us see unkempt people with poor speaking skills, and how they smell as threatening.  Unfairly judging and condemning some of these souls who were deemed dangerous, and are not.

Don’t try to read more into this than what I am saying.  I was very judgmental until I realized the one’s I didn’t like, at first sight, some how ended up being some of my closest friends; just to show you how much I know about prejudging.

This is a Testimony about how to put things into perspective; the things that are out of our control, and a willingness to accept that fact.

Everyone has to live according to their own understanding if God is not dominant in their lives.  Without the influences of Jesus Christ, we are at the mercy of the “World Wide Web,”  but more frightening is listening to ourselves.   Now, while the internet is full of helpful information, coupled with our personal opinions, I am still wondering where is our joy, peace, and salvation?

I can’t find those things including Everlasting Life, on a dot-com?  The ways and understandings of the carnal world are not to be trusted.  So, I recommend that we Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5

Also know that, To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.   Romans 8:5-6

Steve Maraboli’s opinion closely resembles my own.  He said, “The reason many people in our society are miserable, sick, and highly stressed is because of an unhealthy attachment to things they have no control over.”  (other people’s lives)

One of the biggest issues for me, including the majority of us, is our flesh.  And it could care less about allowing bad influences, (foods, drinks, ill-gotten gains, etc..) and all the other things that are designed to kill us, trumping our abilities to just “say no.”

The flesh wants what it wants, and don’t care how it go about getting what it wants, the majority of the time.

Now that we have that understanding, I am leery of appearances; but they are the ones that belong to the corporate and wall street types. This time it’s not the ones with their pants hanging low, or the girls up for financial display.  Although, this is a huge concern.

I am scared of “red bottom” shoes, $500 custom designed shirts, coupled with a huge attitude, and their disdain for the less fortunate, from a few of the wearers.  If the shoe don’t fit don’t wear it, I am talking about the ones that are “larger than life.”

Fancy cars and big cigars, scoundrels selling us a future that empty our bank accounts, leaving us, and the elderly devastated.  Plus, I don’t have a clue about the mind of a man, woman or child, like many do.  I am busy trying to figure me out, but I am willing to help, and receive help, if possible.

What I am not afraid of is the fact that we need our bodies, not what we put on it, which is important too, but what we put in it, and how we feel about ourselves.   We need our bodies, there is no existence without it.

Tell that to the invisible man.  But more importantly, it is the Temple in which our Lord God lives.  So, take care of your bodies and guard your mind; we never know who is watching for; “We Are Not Our Own.”

I understand the fact that we are dwellers in a body that God created, and with Jesus Christ taking up residency in the hearts of all who will allow Him in, there are a few things we need to know to stay healthy physically as well as emotionally, and be blessed in the Eyes of The Lord; try looking at the people of the world according to their places in The Beatitudes: Matthew 5:3-11

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for rightness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Verse 12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and you are not your own?   1st Corinthians 6:19  K J V

It would be wise to get a grip on that lifestyle; everything that matters count, especially that Spirit (Jesus Christ) that lives in us.

It’s “Something to think about.”

Thank you Lord for this all wisdom.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen

DID YOU KNOW? #8

As most know, our mind is in a constant state of activity, even when we are sleeping, the mind is processing what it has learned, and what is important enough to file away.  “Did you know;  “The mind never gets tired of learning, we get lazy?

“Did you know,”  if we make a mistake and then try to turn our situation around, more than likely something similar has happened before, causing us to recognize it for what it is.  Experience.

“Did you know,” step two is right behind step one?  And, “Efficiency is doing things right; effectiveness is doing the right thing.”   Peter Drucker

Now that we know all that, “Did you know;”  Success is not what you do with your ability.  It’s how you use your talent.  George Allen Sr.

In Jesus name, we pray.  Amen
