YOU DO YOU!

I can’t live your life for you, in fact, I can only be a part of the life you live, and that depends on if you let me in.  I can give advice concerning certain things I have experienced like never give up on a dream.

But the best advice I can give to anyone is: to be who you are in the Eyes of God, who created you, and from that point on “You Do You.”  God has a plan for each and every one of us before we were formed in the belly.  (Jeremiah 1:5)

I believe we are as different as the fingerprints on the tips of our fingers.

Know this: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 2nd Peter 2:9

Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.   2nd Corinthians 5:17

“You Do You,”  edifying God, in the Matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Thank you, Lord, and it’s in Jesus name that we pray.  Amen

WEATHERING THE STORM!

“Life does not consist mainly, or even largely of facts and happenings.  It consist mainly of the storm of thought that is forever flowing through one’s head.”   Mark Twain

There is more than one type of storm, including Sharknato One and Two, and they may not be that far off into the future.  If you believe that, you may have issues I cannot the name.  But we all have issues, and sometimes we lose our way, oftentimes becoming delusional.

Most of us have survived something, and I have no doubt some probably were devastated, while others hunkered down to  “Weather The Storm!”

There are all types of tragic events designed to rip us apart.  Our inner being, (nerves) can reap more havoc than any storm imaginable, turning us inside out like Tsunamis, or Hurricanes ravaging the Earth.

We all have lost something, no matter the size, but, others have lost what may be equal in pain, to the lost and sufferings of others, just not in the same situation.  So, when some say, “I really understand,”  even when you think they don’t, they may.

Here’s an example: You may not have experienced Cancer, but your leg was amputated in an accident.  I claim that to be in the know, and you certainly have my attention.  And may I suggest that we do not take the advice of someone who has never experienced a similar situation?

FYI: We may want to be prepared and on high alert for those who are familiar, and still intentionally try to mislead us.  “The Know it All’s.”

Let’s not forget the escapee’s; those of you who have not experience enough to have this type of knowledge.  Pray and Thank God for hiding you.  And pray you never say in a negative tone,  “I’ve been there, and done that.”    Find the joy, who wants to know what Hell feels like?

Don’t answer that, for some it’s right up their alley; eager to open up the floodgates of disarray in order to create disruptive storms.  Evil in Nature.

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.  (destroy)   Jude 1:10 K J V

When we trust in Jesus Christ we can whether any storm no matter the magnitude.  “A wise man in the storm prays to God, not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear.”   Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Listen, every storm is not out to get us.  The thing is, we will have problems because it is the way of the world, even when we are without fault.  Sometimes, because we are faithful, and in right standing with God, some dramas may have been created to move us on to our real purpose, as in my case; instead of spending our lives blowing in the wind, never becoming stable.

For instance: I am better off since Cancer?  Without the experience, I wouldn’t know my purpose is to pass on to you, in a Blog,  norvielcherry.com,  which is full of Testimonies and essays, concerning what I have learned over the years, and to be a Living Witness for Jesus Christ.

So, having said that, Cancer had a direct effect when it came to turning my life in a more suitable and positive direction.

I believe the experience of experiencing Cancer was meant to educate me, so when I tell you Jesus Christ is Lord, and he is in control, no matter how humanly impossible this may seem for any situation, it’s true; I am a Witness to that.

The doctors were not hopeful of me surviving Cancer, not only did I survive the storm, it strengthen me.  I had four sets of Chemo Therapy, and for pain I took Aleve, go figure?   And Christ hid me from myself;  “To Kill the Head is to Kill the Body.”  (My Motto!)

With Jesus Christ in charge, I laid down a few days a month, and that was only after Chemo treatments.  Soon, I was up and going about my business as a Living Witness.  I had to and did  “Weather the Storm,”  in order to take on the task I believe I was called to do, and I am glad to report they are “never more than I can bear.”

No temptation has overtaken you but such as in common to man; And God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.  1st Corinthians 10:13

I survived because I openly trusted God, and was knowledgeable enough from past experiences, and going to a  “Bible Believing, Bible Teaching Church,”  to place myself in His care, and under His authority.

I walked out of the Cancer Facility, leaving many behind, that were supposedly in better shape than me, and I cried.   My life was spared and I was allowed to leave to tell all Jesus is Lord, and we are all covered by the Blood of the Lamb.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.  Acts 20:28  K J V

I trusted God openly, now I am a verbal witness to His mercies.

This is a Testimony, not an opportunity to brag.  I say I because Cancer happened to me, and the stories I tell have left their mark on me, the revelations will never be forgotten, and the education that lead me to here and now.  All in a season.

As a Living Witness, I can only speak on what I know, and I know what I am telling you now.  I was there, so it is what it is.  I had a choice, and I chose to allow Christ to use me to bear witness to you.  I am just keeping it real, there seems to be no simplicity anymore.

When going through the storm, you must openly Trust God, it’s something you cannot conceal; then go “boldly before the throne.”

Ask Jesus for help in the midst of raging storms, and for Him to take the lead in your life.  He may take sovereign over your situation, (having supreme rank, power, or authority.) then use you to bear witness to those who need or don’t know Him, (Jesus Christ,) so they can be freed from the wiles of the Devil, and walk in the ways of Our Lord.

And keep in mind that, ” Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.”

Oh, I almost forgot about those others storms that may come our way; the one’s when we know  “The only safe ship in a storm is leadership.  Faye Wattleton.

In Jesus name we ask for shelter from whatever storms may come our way.  Thank you Lord.  In Jesus name we pray.

“WHO DAT?”

“The face is a picture of the mind with the eyes as its interpreter.”   Marcus Tullius Cicero

Most of us put on our face when coming or going, and at times, we have a face others have never seen.  The one that explodes on to the scene in the form of an overwhelming  “wakes up call.”   Then there are the things that  “go bump in the night.”  (Evil thoughts, that’s so unlike us, etc….)

We wear our faces according to how we feel, at that time, and that can change in the blink of an eye, on numerous occasions, and without warning.  Wait, there’s more:  “Even a clown has a face, and claims to be a clown, but is he a clown on the inside?”  I know he can see himself, but for the rest, it’s so hard to read his face.

“I see myself as an intelligent, sensitive human, with the soul of a clown which forces me to blow it at the most important moments.”  Jim Morrison.

Flaws are a part of life, be it the Clown or the Ring Master.  No one is immune, so put on your best face, a Christ-like face and mean it…

Some of us hide behind cosmetic makeup, and some of us just put on a mean mug.  A threatening look, some may not be able to reverse, so, “If you build the guts to do something, anything, then you better save enough to face the consequences.”   Criss Jami

We must realize whatever face we choose for the day, it will be the face that represents who we are, and who we want all to see.  Will it be a true face or one with lying lips?  Whatever the face, it will be up for scrutiny. (review)  But more importantly, only we can make the call on what face we will wear for the day, or how many faces we will use throughout the day.  Including the face that just happens. (surprised)

This may help in making that decision: “Virtue has a veil, and vice a mask.”   Also, take into consideration,  “Life is too short to spend hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or hottest new lipstick shade will mask and ugly heart.”  Anonymous

Take heed: Don’t let negative facial expressions dictate who you are, and make your enemies.

“Protect your good image from the eyes of negative viewers, who may look at your good appearance with an ugly fiendish eye, and ruin your positive qualities with their chemical infested tongues.”  Micheal Bassey Johnson

Thank you, Lord, for all you do, especially today concerning how we present ourselves before you, and with an attitude that is pleasing.  In Jesus name, we pray.

DID YOU KNOW? #7

“Did you know,”  Heroes are not any braver or driven as most may think, they just have faith in their abilities to make the right decision to do the right thing in spite of overwhelming obstacles.

If we desire it, no obstacle is too large to stop us from achieving our goals to attain those things which we desire, and failure strengthens our power to accomplish what we desire?

Our minds determine how we view the way things happened, taking into consideration the fact that we all see things differently?  How we feel about what has happened, is what will bring that thing to right or wrong standing.  And, our attitude will determine it’s worth?

“Did you know,”  without Christ, you will never know your worth?  And, keep in mind when making choices concerning you, to be mindful of pride; it can make for some ugly people, but humility can cancel that out.

We must persevere through Jesus Christ in order gain confidence in who we are to attain anything.

For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.   Proverbs 3:26  ES-V

“It’s Something to Think About.”

Thank you, Lord, for giving us the ability to understand the importance of knowledge.  In Jesus name, we pray.

A THOUGHTFUL MIND!

“A Thoughtful mind,”  is a road map to great things.  Jumping into things without forethought is a road map to failure.    (NLC)

It’s simple, life happens a certain way because we create it.  “A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes.”   And, “Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind, but great actions speak to all mankind.”   Theodore Roosevelt

We can’t change what we refuse to confront, and worrying about that thing will get us nowhere fast.  So if you are worried about anything, especially confrontation, your life may very well fall apart.  By the way; Where is your Faith?

In order to make a difference, actually all we have to do is one thing, and that one thing will put us ahead of those who do nothing at all.  And when feelings come to the forefront, before thoughts, we have the potential to invite the Devil into our lives; he is tricky and only there to promote trouble.

If our thoughts are unclear so are we.  The bible tells us in James 1:8 ES-V

He that is a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

We love you, Lord.  In Jesus name, we pray.

DID YOU KNOW? # 6

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.   Proverbs 16:9

“Do not spoil what you have been desiring on what you have not; remember that what you now have, was once among the things you only hoped for.”   Epicurus

“Did You Know,” time is what life is made of, so don’t waste it, adjust your plans if they are not working, and know that one of the first things we should get a grip on when we have one is patience, not only for others, but ourselves as well.

In Jesus name we pray.

LIFE HAPPENED!

“There are no black-and-white situations. It’s all part of life. Highs, lows, middles.  Van Morrison

With the Spirit of Jesus Christ in my heart, I have been burdened with the task of sacrificing my personal affairs and embarrassments for the good of others.  Although I do this with gladness in my heart, telling, on myself is still a bummer, and I may have to pay for my transgressions the rest of my life because I disobeyed God.  I believe motivating others, is His Will for my life now, and I believe it is meant to empower, not punish.  Thank you, Lord.

And thank you for all your wonderful comments, but along with them, several have asked the same questions repeatedly.  So to put your minds to rest concerning where I am getting my information.  Some of my storytelling is without a doubt coming from some very trying experiences, life-saving events, and from my heart, where Jesus Christ lives.  All of these stories have been witnessed by me, or I have personally suffered and endured the consequences.

Oh, yeah and the answer to some other often asked questions is: I use WordPress, and my contact information  (norvielcherry.com, norviep2@att.com, or WordPress norvielcherry.wordpress.com)  can be found at the bottom of each post.

Some of the things I write about lay heavy on my heart, and like most, I don’t care to relive those not so happy times, or the pain associated with them, such as Cancer, death, and some too close for comfort experiences that were born out of just being alive.

In other words, “Life Happened,” coupled with a hard head.

I was saved from an early grave to tell of a life I had been barely surviving and didn’t know it.  I was almost giving my life away, to live a life of sin, blinded by the perks, and thinking I had it made.  I was making big mistakes, even now I make a few.  I realized the past is never far, and the same mistakes can be repeated if not careful.  I thought my past to be long forgotten, and meaningless, until I got cancer.

After that battle for my life, I found a new purpose, writing about those mistakes and lessons learned long ago.  Now that knowledge has come full circle in the form of a Blog,  norvielcherry.com,  and an E-Book that will be available in about 3 months.  “I Survived 60 Years To Get Cancer, Then Kill It.”  The Norvie L. Cherry Story.

I write in order for you to know, and to avoid at all cost, the in’s of outs of not obeying the Will Of God.  There is a price to pay when we don’t, and I am a witness to that fact.  So, I am here to tell you how to avoid that price if at all possible.  I need for all to know how not to throw their lives away, spiritually or physically, like I almost did, because of a lack of knowledge.

It is my intent, to tell all who will listen about the things that happened to me, in order, to give a heads up on what may lie ahead for others, in hopes most will avoid the traps and lies laid out for us by Satan, coupled with the pitfalls we would normally not see coming.  I intend to tell everything I know, just in case I hit that sweet spot in some others life, and they get a message that is beneficial, maybe a life saver.

And how are they to preach except they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!    Romans 10:15

I believe I received a warning and purpose, via Cancer.  And because of Cancer, I received and realized that Satan is alive and looking to snatch any and everyone in his deadly game of lies and trickery.  The good news is, in order to battle that, I believe myself to be saved, and sent as a Living Witness to warn all, the beast is on the hunt, and he can be avoided, because there is nothing too big for God.

I was saved from certain death and given a purpose.  And that purpose is to tell all, Jesus Christ is Lord, and He still does Miracles.  I tell you with conviction; Satan’s will for my death could not overrule the Will of God for my life, even when the doctors said, no way.  His Will will be done, no matter who think they are in charge, or for whatever reason.  My job is to simply press on and spread the name of Jesus Christ, and witness to his mercies.  Get behind me Satan.

I “Fear the Lord.”  For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.   1st Corinthians 9:16

Being prepared is our best defense.  So, I am compelled to share any knowledge I am aware of, it’s up to you to receive it?

I truly enjoy a great sense of humor, for without it, life would be too drab and too hard for me.  Now, don’t take that statement the wrong way, I am a fighter and I take myself seriously, but not to the point I can’t have fun with my own follies, and others as well.

I pray to never let anything be %100 glum and doom in any situation.  I know there is help, and I know where it comes from, don’t you?   If not, its Jesus Christ, in case you were wondering, and the answer for those who did not have a clue.

I tell you, these experiences I have exposed about myself are nothing to laugh at.  I believe some of them came straight out of a horror movie, but with Christ, all is well, and I can find humor coupled with life saving solutions that I am willing to share, embarrassed or not.  So, I pray you take me and the messages to heart, because of an overwhelming price tag I paid to give you this information.  Knowledge is our friend, and our very lives, at some point may depend on what we know.

So, may the beforehand information be a blessing, and a helpmate to all through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Remember,  “The life you save, may be your own.”

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.   2nd Timothy 2:15   ESV

Thank you Lord for all your wisdom. In Jesus name we pray.

ARE YOU SURE-SURE?

The # 1 reason we seldom get things done is because they take too long.  The reason they take too long is because we are not sure when we start.  When we are not sure, we do not finish.  (Being the best we can be.)  At least in my case.

No matter how many accolades, awards, or praise I may have received in the past, I know, I didn’t finish a single thing, close but no cigar.  And the reason why is because I was not  “Sure-Sure.”  I couldn’t make up my mind to stay the course or not, so after a while, I just became uninterested and moved on.

These days I have patience, plus I believe: I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.  Philippians 4:13

With Christ, as my CEO, I have the right project manager in my heart to finish what I start, and I follow His instructions, including how to finish through Faith.  And it’s all outlined in the Bible for my convenience.

I am no longer afraid of success or failure, and I know I will finish because I “Entered to Win.”  Moving right on along;

“Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: If you’re alive it isn’t.  Richard Bach

In Jesus name we pray.  Amen

TAKING SIDES!

We all share friends, and we treat them all differently, sometimes we get alone, and sometimes we will disagree.  When this happens, at times, one will ask the others to separate themselves from that mutual friend.  This is so unfair and it comes with an array of excuses.  A common one is, “I’ve known them longer than you, plus I was the one who introduced you to them..”

What about the issues?

In truth, it doesn’t matter who knows who, and what we tell one is not necessary what is said to the other.  Just leave me out of it, I am a friend to both, and no one has the right to tell me who to associate with.  I don’t care if we were joined at the hip, we are all individuals in our own right.  Plus, I follow Jesus Christ, not you or the world.

Anyway, we should concentrate on the merits of our friends, and show all who we are in Christ, instead of  “Taking Sides.”

Now I said it and it is “Something to Think About.”

Lord, we ask in our prayers that we can be fair and balanced.  In Jesus name, we pray.

GOSSIP IS A NO-NO!

Gossip is a no-no, and every one of those “it ain’t your business” words affect some greatly, and I don’t mean for the better good.  It’s most times idle talk and or rumors, especially concerning the personal or private affairs of others.

“We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think.  Words are secondary.  Thoughts live; they travel far.”   Swami Vivekananda

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.   Ephesians 4:29

Thank you Lord!  In Jesus name we pray.
