“Education comes from within; you get it by struggle and effort and thought.” Napoleon Hill
I believe God’s desires were revealed to me through obedience. As bad as I was, I managed to be obedient most of the time. While growing up in a church setting, I knew Jesus Christ learned obedience by the things he suffered. A great motivator for me.
Some of us think we are immune to the struggles of others and the dark side of the world because of who we think we are in it. And who’s to judge? There is no need to answer that, we are way too important to care anyway. For clarity, know that you are your mother’s child until she teaches you to become one with Christ, creating a cause for us to become joint heirs to the throne.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
A few times while reading the above verse, I have gotten the impression there may be a clue in there to avoid what’s in the middle, (The nothings) before we get old, and have to return to grace, ashamed or maybe not. Even as a child, I knew the consequences of bad judgment or a lack of. Sometimes we take a beating caused by our own hands, causing all around to suffer and most times ” it is what we made it.”
To suffer is to undergo or feel pain and or be distressed: To sustain an injury, disadvantage, or loss. To endure a disability or death; willingly, or subjected to. Suffering through all these explanations of suffering. Either way the harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph.
Strength is gathered from distress coupled with growth. So I concluded suffering from anything is a part of our walk and growing pains; but don’t let your battles be the ones you picked, only to claim “the Devil made me do it.”
For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well-doing than for evil doings. 1st Peter 3:17
Life is a real struggle, so with the sufferings attached, we may need every weapon we can muster to conquer the evils that live within its boundaries. I think about these things, then I thank God for sustaining me, as well as others in the worst of times. Through his love, dedication, and promises, Jesus Christ carried me to the finish line, saving my life along the way.
Some of us grew up on the “Rough Side of the Mountain,” and some of us chose to make the climb even harder by harboring disobedience. When doing unbecoming things we may reach our goals, but in the meantime, we can get hurt in the process.
In my brief encounter with that life lesson, a person I knew sucker punched another for no apparent reason, breaking their own hand in the process. I am not into beating myself down just to punish you, or any stranger of my choice.
The word suffer is a lack or a refusal to comply; to disregard our transgressions; which is a violation of law, command, or sin, etc. A choice we made no matter what side of the mountain we grew up on. With Jesus Christ, we can move mountains, any mountain; cancer, high blood pressure, etc… I am a Witness to that.
“Suffering Is A Real Life Struggle” still its only what we make of it. We can wake up in the morning with complaints, instead of Praising God. Complaining with anticipation about things that have not come to the forefront, and some things we took to bed with us, causing us to suffer by our own outspoken mouth, and actions to make matters that do not exist come to the light, by the power of the tongue, an overworked imagination, a lack of faith and the Devil.
We can reign in the battle that the tongue and its cohorts have caused, because of the power we hold being believers in The Word of God. The majority of us know Faith is a confidence or trust in a person or thing. In this case, we are talking about a belief based on Jesus Christ, without proof. So, trust and faith are the unseen keys. May I suggest we blindly use this trusting faith when we are at a loss, suffering, and seeking help?
Life is in indeed a battle. A battle consisting of an array of struggles. Evil is cruel and strong; beauty is still enchanting, but rare; goodness can look tattered and weak; allowing tomfoolery to be defiant. Wickedness can and will carry the day, and mankind is lost in the wilderness.
“But the world as it stands is no narrow illusion, no phantasm, no evil dream of the night; we wake up to it; forever and ever; and we can neither forget it nor deny it nor dispense with it.” Henry James
So here we are, trying to hang on to a life that is full of life and death choices. Understand, by knowing the Will of God and becoming obedient to his Commandments, while trusting him, gives us insight to what decision is to be made. Just ask for his guidance.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Have Faith in God. Mark 11:22
