MIND YOUR P’S AND Q’S!
A true believer in the Words of Christ does not immediately start to think the worse if a problem occurs. I believe to have knowledge of certain things and to say what is said with conviction, we must have been there or experienced it. If not, as far as I am concerned, some have no idea of what they are talking about.
I believe there is no such thing as the perfect Christian, so I am mindful when speaking of or to others; they may see my flaws, too.
I know some of my essays are full of errors, even though I try to eliminate them, and some may sound like I am preaching. I assure you, I try hard, and I am by no means a preacher. So in order to not go astray, I speak only about what I know, in a language, I hope all understand and realize error free or not.
I was not the best student in my class, but while I was there, I did learn some of the most important subjects. One being the ability to communicate, regardless of every T being crossed or every I being dotted. I didn’t spend my time bashing myself or others over imperfections, or the inability to grasp every single subject.
Criticizing is just another excuse and a sorry way of diverting attention from our own shortcomings. In other words, what are you hiding, what is it you fail at?
Is pride causing us to out others, instead of dealing with ourselves? Being critical and “holier than thou,” instead of being focused, left me crippled. I soon realized some of the hardest lessons come in the smallest of packages, and being honest with ourselves is a tall and humbling experience.
I discovered, when I criticized others for whatever reason, I lost a lesson that may have been intended to benefit me. I was focusing on all the wrong aspects, and I found if I only searched for errors in others, I will not learn or gain what was intended for my growth. A lesson I may never comprehend, causing a setback in my life.
No one is perfect except for Christ. So I concluded, not matter how hard I try, I will never get it right, but I care. And for some even if I did succeed it still will not matter. I learned, I had to figure out and accept the fact that, “it is impossible to please everyone.” So with that knowledge, I move on and trust others will find Jesus. I pray He will awaken them to “whatever ails them.”
We may never understand all that life or her lessons entail, so some put effort into not finding ways to cope with them. Some of us look for ways to criticize others and their efforts, while just passing time. Pray instead, and while praising God, remember one of our favorite praise songs is not called “How Great I am.”
There are some with wonderful gifts that cannot read, or write. Gifts, some only wish they possessed; such as wisdom, and acts of love that cannot be outwardly seen. Still, we can recognize these Christians by their good works, without a word, because they are spoken in spirit and good deeds.
Wisdom is taught in the Word of God, not some flaw I may suffer from. Understand, I am not fussing, I am only using this as an example to get my point across. To not fully realize the importance of the text is the issue, and I am no longer afraid to take a chance on learning. I don’t let a few misspelled words get me off track. I learned the messages I am trying to deliver, “the hard way.”
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have a good understanding. Psalms 11:10
Being and doing what Christ wants from all of us, is what’s important. If we were to worry about everything; just the way Satan would like it, nothing would get accomplished. Here we go, you know, we have to have some “me time.” We claim “I love me,” but always criticizing others can cause problems, sometimes to our health.
If we take the approach to “Mind our P’s and Q’s,” we may become informed, therefore giving us the ability to deal with not only us but the ways of the world, which is usually the cause our downfall.
Information is knowledge, spelled right or wrong. Take advantage of it, or it will take advantage of you and yours. Remember, we are only as good as our teachers; So let the teachers of goodwill and the Words of Jesus Christ, influence us all.
Thank you, Lord, for that message, and I pray others have received it. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
