Have you ever seen something you didn’t see, because it moved too fast? It happened to me, I got a glance, but I couldn’t tell what it was. And I have sworn on a stack of bibles the last time I saw whatever, it was right where I last left it? “Someone must have moved it because it wasn’t me.”
We have a tendency to cast blame anywhere other than ourselves, so I am confessing, been there and done that. On top of that I have gotten really angry when I couldn’t find whatever, causing my temper to reach a boiling point only to discover I was wrong, and to this day I still have no idea of what happened to it.
Had I lost my mind? Am I experiencing Deja Vu, or realizing I may not be all that no matter what I think of me.. Human flaws are real and like it or not, the “truth hurts.” Some of us who fail, claim “it’s not our fault,” we were only following directions. In cases, that’s true. Then there are the selfish, the ones who have a dislike for something or someone who does better than they.
We need to understand not owning up to ourselves may cause us to be sorry, and who’s fault is that? Vanity is one the reasons we are only concerned with ourselves. Some wear a heart made of stone, and flush their bodies with ice-cold attitudes, coupled with a suspect personality. Strong and sure of ungodly actions, bold with sinister ways, and complacent when it comes to others.
I was good at putting on airs hoping no one discovered I had flaws while overlooking, they might be in need of repair. If our shortcomings, we may never see success for the simple fact that it shows up when we least expect it. Being caught in our wrong doings is not an easy feeling, especially since we know what we know, causing us to unrealistic about brag on everything from A-Z. Caught up in ourselves is all that matters.
At times I overly emitted emotions when voicing my desires, and I didn’t realize how foolish I sounded. I thought I had the advantage because my voice was speckled with sweet deceit to upgrade my credibility. That is until life and my Spirit has taught me to truly be credible, I needed a clean heart, not one that was calculated, and cold as ice.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26
Do we know “Where we Stand,” even when our minds trick us? I found, I could not depend on my eyes alone for the truth, so I know you can’t trust what I say, I saw. At least not to my mind processes what my eyes thought they saw.
When we don’t think first about what we see and understand what we saw, there is room for error. Mistakes, some don’t want to own up to. Mistakenly sending the innocent to jail can one of the most
Dramatic outcomes. So, I understand the words are spoken from my mouth about what I heard, or saw, must be processed with clarity and understood by the mind without a doubt.
Could it be that God gave us two eyes, two ears and one mouth, so we will be able to see things that are all around us for what they really are, here more and talk less, in case this is the reasoning and to not “let the cat out of the bag,” I had to see the errors of my ways, stop talking so much, while keeping to my ears sharp for the truth.
I know some who would shudder at the possibility they may have been found out, and accused of being a phony. After all, we don’t make mistakes? I think for some this is their reality, never realizing, they or I am not perfect. Someone thinking they are 100% right all of the time doesn’t make sense to me.
We all make mistakes, some just don’t want to own up to them. For instance, the time someone brought to my attention, I had been singing the wrong words to my favorite song for 20 years? Oops! So now I know it is possible for, me, to make mistakes, but…
It is natural for us to be protective of ourselves, so my words were better suited to me. When in plain truth, I now realize I cannot trust my ears. Only thinking I heard what I wanted to hear was not going to be enough anymore. Sometimes there is a “rest of the story.”
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 2nd Timothy 4:3-4
I have talked so much at times, I talked my way into greatness, and five minutes later I had found a way to talk my way out. My many words had turned the tables of a conversation, giving me the disadvantage? And at times, causing me to spit hatred with each syllable, often using them as a tool to destroy, most times in secret.
An unchecked mouth has a force that is unnatural. A power that can quietly or with rage shut down human forces as it raids the mightiest in words. Those who are mad at the world and sometimes themselves, are the haters that use language to hurt and create kiosk, tricking and cheating all at every turn. I know when I am doing harm, you? I know, it’s complicated.
These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires, they are loud mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain an advantage. Jude 1:16
Have you ever wanted something so bad you would do anything to get it, even say you would sell your soul? “Many truths have been told in a jest,” and I wouldn’t put anything pass some. When the flesh is in control, we may ask ourselves, “Why did I do this or that?” (The unmentionables.)
When the pleasure-seeking flesh is stronger than our will, we can become unruly, and lose control of ourselves. And when the flesh is allowed to run rampant, it may cause us to be concerned for our lives. If so, may I suggest we call on Jesus to renew our strength? “It’s Something to Think About.”
When I am afraid I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust, I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? Psalms 5: 3-4
When I told all I had made up my mind, just to change it over and over, causing others to think I may be inconsistent, or that I don’t trust my own decisions. I was questioning myself at every turn and I needed something sure in my life.
Who is better than Jesus Christ? If you have a different answer, “Get thee behind me, Satan.” I pray we all take Christ into consideration, especially when trying to sound smarter than the rest, and everyone in the room knows we don’t know what we are talking about or doing. Maybe we can shore up our place in society thru Jesus.
Sometimes, it takes a knockout blow for us to realize we have “bitten off more than we can chew,” although some may never realize it. Ever wonder why we are not a good judge of character? Maybe it’s who we associate ourselves with; the unsavory characters we love so much. I am not calling out names.
Why do we do what we do, is this the norm? “Everybody is doing it.” In truth, we need to look to a higher power. We need Jesus to enable us to do what is written, and the power to correct what is wrong. Not only when asking for sound advice, but having the ability to offer it.
Everything started making sense after I accepted Christ. Now I have the patience to wait on him. And if it’s alright with you, may I suggest “we go to Jesus” to process what the eyes may have seen, and what the ears thought they heard, before the mouth say what it want to say without any justification.
But how can I trust my mind to do all that, when it’s all over the place, and wants to take me on a journey of no return, see, hear and do whatever the Devil wants it to do. It wasn’t until I totally trusted in Christ, that he worked with my Heart. Now that I listen to myself, I have obtained truth and peace with my beliefs, spoken and unspoken.
I believe in order to have a better understanding of ourselves and others, we must submit to Christ and pray our eyes, our ears, our tongue, our flesh and our minds come together in our heart. Then and only then will we know “Where we Stand, and how to rebuke the Devil.
Trust in God, not all humans and their idols, because we are full of all types of emotions. Jesus knows how to use our feelings, and turn us into dedicated Christians that send positive messages, not only from our hearts, eyes, body and voice to proclaim Jesus is Lord.
In Jesus Christ, we pray, for clarity in thoughts, words, and deed. Thank You Lord. Amen
