IS IT WORTH THE RISK?

It’s one thing to not call on Christ, but it is a totally different thing to worship idols or call the Lord’s name in vain. “Is it Worth the Risk,”  to know we are in violations of these Commandments, and continue to break the rules?

In order to be successful, there are ten rules we must follow and some know this, but not know they are going about some of them all wrong. As usual, I find things out the hard way and end up suffering the consequences. The good news is it always leave me with a testimony to share.

I don’t ever recall putting the love of God and the love of money, in the same sentence. But as I grew in Christ, I learned and understand we cannot serve the both. Matthew 6:24 confirms that, “No man can serve two masters:” Read it there’s more.

We are to seek Christ, not earthly rewards that consume our very lives. Finally, I realized God will provide all our needs, if we let Him. In my case Jesus saved my life; and by obeying, I often find myself overwhelmed with blessings, and good news for others. If we follow His Commandments, sometimes there is a reward, if we don’t often there are consequences. Decisions, decisions, decisions; We are given rules with choices.

And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shall have no other gods before me.”  Exodus 20:1-3

We need to understand who and what these other gods are.

We can worship the things of the world, fall down on our knees and kiss the earth or, we can “kiss the garment of the Creator who made the Universe.”  The choice is ours. Keeping in mind the decisions we make, will affect us and our families for the better or worse, and at its own appointed time.

I have been up and I have fallen off my high horse more than a few times, serving other god’s is a choice, make the wrong one and we can suffer dire consequences. Still, we serve plenty of gods, starting with ourselves, after that it’s money. We love our cars sometimes more than our families, and some of us has a fixation with adult toys, (deck of cards, R rated movies) etc.

There are some of us who simply are not aware of the words which are in Christ Jesus, and the laws governing them. There are also plenty of us who are aware of the words and consequences, and still we worship objects.  Exodus 20:4-6 make it clear;

“Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.  (Iniquity: wicked or unjust act)  and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments;”

IS IT WORTH THE RISK? To bring Hell on you and your family for three or four generations; I think not, but you do you. Know that if you blindly obey the customs and traditions of your family, your church or society instead of the commandments of the Word of God, you are guilty of idolatry; the excessive reference for or devotion to a person or thing.

Take into consideration that a piece of jewelry hanging around some of our necks is a graven image; a carved image used as an idol. Now, there is nothing wrong with the cross, it’s the image of any person hanging on it that’s the problem. I have informed some of this and to no avail.

“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”   1st Corinthians 1:20

We must understand Jesus is not on the cross.

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept.”  1st Corinthians 15:20

We talk too much, taking the Lord’s name in vain, some by false swearing, blasphemy, and all profane irreverent uses of God’s name, conjuring up false religions. Now in my opinion, that’s a different language all together, and a dangerous game of chit-chat, I know to avoid at all cost.

“Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which come out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”   Matthew 15:11

Using Christ’s name in the correct manner with prayer, communion, teaching and worshiping God, may lead to the reward of remembrance on judgment day; It is one thing to say I know the Lord, and quite another for Him to say I know not you.

Malachi 3:16 says; “Then they that feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who feared the Lord and who thought on His name.”

IS IT WORTH THE RISK; to not heed the advice and take the Lord’s name in vain: I think not.

“And he that blaspheme the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him;” (punish)  Leviticus 24:16

Repeating the Lord’s name over and over in an unrighteous manner, and there is no truth in the words, is a dangerous thing. Crying out to God, Oh Lord, O Lord! If you do this, I will do that. Swearing to our friends in the name of the Lord, claiming, so help me Jesus, I can get it done; sitting in a court room, swearing to “tell the truth, nothing but the truth, so help you God.”

Jesus said; “Neither shall thou swear by the head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.”   Matthew 5:36

We use our tongues not only to blaspheme the name of God, but also to fabricate tall tales, cheat, steal, and slander others. At times we are just plain vicious by way of our mouths, and we speak in secret with no respect to others or in our tone.

We know there is a way to speak respectably, but that takes courage; “courage to stand up and speak to someone’s face, and courage to sit down and listen to someone else.”

Nelson Mandela said; “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head, If you talk to him in his language, it goes to his heart.”

God’s language is universal, so we must speak to others with respect and in a Christ like tone. It is the Will of Christ, that we treat all as He treats us.

FYI: There are something’s we are just not aware of them being idols. One is we cannot call another man, father, only God can be called father, unless he is our earthly father; not father this or father that because a religious title. Hey, no disrespect, but this did come straight out of the Bible. Therefore, I believe it.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.”   Matthew 23:9-10

I was raised and taught in the church, to act in accordance to the Will of God; but I did not obey. I used the Lord’s name in vain and swore on it. For that, I paid a hefty price, all because I thought I knew more than most. I found out no one is exempt.

“Where is the wise: where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”    1st Corinthians 1:20

I am a Living Witness to the fact that “a hard head makes a soft behind,”  and I am warning you not to go there. We are not brighter or smarter than Jesus Christ, although some believe they are. If that’s you, pray for forgiveness, and ask Christ for help.

We are not gods and will never be, still there are those who set themselves above all, including The Christ; pray for them and me. As for me, living under God’s Commandments is durable and less stress.

“Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods; Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”   Exodus 15:11

I say no one; careful now, don’t say you?

KEEPING IT REAL!

The last thing I want is to step on toes, “If the shoe doesn’t fit don’t wear it;” only “A hit dog will holler,” anyway. As for me, I am going to keep my blessings by obeying the Will of God; therefore I need to tell you what has been placed in my heart by my Spirit.

Some of us receive praise we do not deserve and I am one of them. Praise is being heaped on me, because of some words that come from, “Thus Saith the Lord,” referenced from the bible, coupled with true life experiences, found on this website norvielcherry.com

As I told you before, God snatched my head from an early grave, to deliver messages to all who will or will not listen, and that is not an easy task; but “It is what it is,” and I must Keep It Real.

I am not the author of anything, only used as one, all things belong to God. I am a messenger, merely a vessel, and one of many. These are my instructions: TELL THE WORLD, WHAT GOD DID FOR ME.  As a Living Witness, I am to give true life testimony to tell all that Jesus, the Son of God is alive and well, and He does Miracles; also to put it in a language that from age 2 to 200 can understand.

What we have discussed in these blog pages is written. Look for yourself, you have a Bible around there somewhere, don’t you?  If not, it would be wise to get one, and one not taken from a motel/hotel. Some may remember when a bible was kept in each room. Keep it clean, that was then, “The old norm;” this is now.

When it comes to God, whatever your religion, not knowing doesn’t work. His Spirit is in us like it or not. It’s up to us to allow it into our lives and heart; God will not force anyone to do anything outside of their will, good or bad. It is our choice, and I pray you make the right decision; because if you think a little birdie is talking to you, or you have more than one mind, you may need to reevaluate your beliefs. That little birdie may be your Spirit, and your 1st mind may be The Almighty God.

There may be some who are schooled and may believe I have overstepped my bounds. This is not my concern, take it up with Christ. I believe if one is truly called for any God-given purpose, it should be obvious to a true saint; for they should know, I had no choice in this matter, and bad choices have consequences.

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.”   Corinthians 9:16

I know my purpose and I am sure others know theirs. Some are called to lead the sheep, not me, that’s the pastor’s job, I am a Witness to God’s mercy.

So to keep it real, and you understand that my purpose is that of a Motivational Speaker, StoryTeller, Cancer Survivor, Author,  (“I Survived 60 Years To Get Cancer, Then Kill It,”  now being edited). I am to be obedient to the Will of God. To make a long story short; A Living Witness. So just settle down, there is no disrespect; and this is not a competition.

Conversations and what others think we should be doing is the way of the world, a world that has a lack of interest in God. And I am not afraid to say what I believe to be His will for my life. Give the Glory to God, praise Him for the information He is sharing thru this website. But no one does, and this makes me sad.

I am beginning to understand why I may have been given this task. I believe it is because I am on the same level as others, so we speak the same language,  (understand)  making this an advantage; an equal, no better or no worse than the rest. Sometimes our elite training has made some uncomfortable with common sense and at times common folks. Some of us are overbearing, and some of us have lost our senses period, and this is not good.

Others over think a simple process until it becomes almost impossible to understand, like pages written by the government. This type of language is used to confuse us. We speak everyday English here, so there is no need to get a translator. Some of us are so private even we don’t know what we have said, and everything is done in secret; then we call our antics business. I get that entire persona; we have become “conformed to the ways of the world.”

“And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God;”   Romans 12:2

Most of the things we do not make sense, and we are cruel. Then there are those who break mirrors when looking at themselves, (figuratively) so as not to see they are independent of God;  inspired by Satan, himself. There is a sadness that is looming when we are too uncomfortable to call out Jesus name in public. It’s really simple, we just don’t do that these days; “The newest norm?”

“THE NEW NORM MAY SEND SOME OF US STRAIGHT TO…”

How can so many agree with what has been said in a post of their choice, testifying to what a help it has been. Here, everything that is said, stems from the Words of Christ and the experiences explored, and yet not one in thousands uses His name, when incorporating their opinion ON THIS WEBSITE. Can we just get an Amen?

All I want to know is, what are we waiting for, someone to start the ball rolling? I thought that was me, but I guess I was wrong. It is unbelievable that no one bothered to say Thank you Jesus, or Praise God. I simply refuse to believe I am the only person with the courage to openly praise Christ. Where are you all, or as they say;  “where you at?”

Why are we not giving God the credit, the God that gave it all, including his Son. I know you don’t think I made this stuff up. I had to get my information from somewhere, and it certainly wasn’t the devil, he doesn’t pass out good news. Still, some praise my good works; I love it, but what about Christ?  Some got part of it, so a very special thanks to those who share these important testimonies with others. That is a blessing and a good start, now we must start actually using God’s name in our conversations.

To “keep it real,”   I am not the one to praise, I am a vessel, I carry testimonies about God’s love and mercy.

What’s the problem? Are we afraid of what others may think of us if we use the G word? Do we hide in shame? It’s simple to me, it’s just not fashionable this day and age to talk about Jesus Christ.  God is okay, it’s Jesus.

Somebody may need to tell you It’s OK to say JESUS.  It’s OK, to say JESUS.

We say all the other things we shouldn’t be saying, so what’s one more? Yea Right!  Believe that and I’ll tell you another. Beware one more can sometimes be one too many.

“He made you alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world.”   Ephesians 2: 1-2

It seems as if we are walking in that season again. Are we afraid of what others may think about our walk with Christ?  If so, it causes us to go along with the programs that are man-made sins; trespassing on everyone’s toes that are weak and exposed, or being trampled on ourselves. Do we only acknowledge God when we need him? Some of us, only try to excess God, when we remember He exists.
Some are in so much trouble they adopt Christ on the spot, then when in stride again, dropped just like that. And our excuse is:  “His way doesn’t work.”

God saved us, and soon after we were walking the “course of this world.”   After we became saved, it was back to business as usual, letting the Devil run things; our values, ideas, life, and allowing him to put others in place to run us into the ground.

We don’t need Christ anymore, it seems as if we prefer peer pressure and Satan. If there are some who still believe in Jesus on my page “Something to think about!” it must be done in secret as far as I can tell. All I talk about is Christ and never have I read any praises for Him. Maybe I am missing something, but what do I know? I am not a Bible scholar, but  “I am keeping it real.”

Hey, I am just asking a question, the last thing I want is to be left out of the loop. Oh! I know what it is, we are caught up in the ways of what everybody else is doing or expect us to do. “Don’t rock the boat,”  is what we tell ourselves. Maybe God’s name really isn’t fashionable, this season. You know we claim to go through phases, and fads. The world is valuable to some of us; so some live lifestyles that do not require the assistance of Jesus Christ.

We have conformed to the ways of the world so the Devil is having his way. We are praising somebody or something and it’s not Christ, so I just couldn’t leave you without an excuse; by the way, what’s that new god’s name? Mr. Pokerchip, Ms. Bloodymary, we have so many.

STOP GETTING IT TWISTED, AND PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW.

Thank you for allowing me to help bless you through the use of His words, so please don’t leave Christ out of our conversations.
